Hey guys just thought I give everyone a heads up. This especially pertains to guys running TP's, HFC's, or some FI application.

Beware of CHP Smog Check CheckPoints - G35Driver

Be careful out there.I want some rep points for this.

Yeah, seams like that would apply to newer vehicles, since it isn't mandatory for them until they are 5 years old. Would be nice to know, never heard of this before.

f this state and I'm starting to want to move out of this country too. Now they want to force me to buy government sanctioned health insurance too.

They're just a bunch of thieves robbing everyone blind.

Agreed. I posted pics of one of these "rolling smog checkpoints" in another thread and posed the question to any members that were law enforcement whether or not it was "manditory" and I have since forgotten the thread.

I pose the same question here today. ?

Here is what the DMV says:V C Section 2806 Vehicle and Equipment Inspection
Vehicle and Equipment Inspection
2806. Any regularly employed and salaried police officer or deputy sheriff, or any reserve police officer or reserve deputy sheriff listed in Section 830.6 of the Penal Code, having reasonable cause to believe that any vehicle or combination of vehicles is not equipped as required by this code or is in any unsafe condition as to endanger any person, may require the driver to stop and submit the vehicle or combination of vehicles to an inspection and those tests as may be appropriate to determine the safety to persons and compliance with the code.

Amended Sec. 5, Ch. 292, Stats. 2003. Effective January 1, 2004

That means if you have an aftermarket exhuast they have "reason" to check yo sh*t out!!!

If you're running HFC's or Test Pipes you should be weary of these check points but if you're stock it shouldn't be an issue.
