In Downtown San diego for the week what to do?
 

What is a must go to, its just my wife and I (early 20s) with a rent-a-car right next to the air port. What are some good spots to go to, we leave Friday morning. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, just walk around the Gaslamp Quarter. Plenty of food and fun there. Check out the docks if you're interested in ships (is the Midway there? I can't remember).

If you have until Friday why not stop by Los Angeles? It's a little over 2 hours without traffic and 3 and some change with.

Well I am here looking for apartments, because I am being stationed here in a few months so gotta find some place or at least narrow it down. So far I have been drinking Corona and eating taquetos (sp) and feel right in place lol.

Actually, you should be eating California Burritos or Carne Asada Fries wearing flip flops & sun glasses every where you go...now you're a San Diegan :tup:

Well there are a lot of nice clubs, restaurants, bars, etc.. depending on what you guys are into. If you can't decide on what to do, go to signonsandiego.com I've lived here all my life and even I use their site. If you wanna be a tourist check out Sea World, SD Zoo, Old Town, Embarcadero Park, Belmont Park, La Jolla Cove & Downtown La Jolla, Coronado, for beaches I recommend Del Mar area.

Im back in Norfolk, VA. I got a lease for the wife and I at Portofino in Mission Valley, looks like a real nice place and have a garage for all my tools and the Z to go in. Anyone else around there?

Check out the Aircraft Carrier MidWay, it's pretty interesting, and you can also check out the Ship, The Star of India. it's not expensive and go early.

I grew up in SD. I miss it. Great town.

Some options for you to check out:

• Cabrillo Nat. Monument on Point Loma
• Take the bridge over to Coronado, not a lot to do over there but worth it for a drive. Hotel Del Coronado has been there forever and has a lot of history
• Sea World (Yeah I know, but if you've never been you should go)
• Zoo and Balboa park you can't miss - one of the best zoos in the world
• Old Town (touristy but worth a couple of hours)
• USS Midway - Don't miss this
• Gaslamp District at night

All the above is close to downtown. Head north to La Jolla and Del Mar if you want to venture a little further out. Beautiful.

Well I took the wife to USS Midway she said she always wanted to see where I work so we did that and some of the other ships as well, we stopped in Old Town for a few minutes and left it was late, and we did end up going to Gaslamp at night on Thursday, that was fun. Thanks for all the suggestions
