This argument has gone on for years.
Attaching the lic plate anywhere other than the front of the car is viewed as a violation. You should just get a Stillen lic plate holder for the front and be compliant. Accept your on his radar and unless you're going to lawyer up? Move on no reason to make it more than it is unless you have plenty of $$$.
