To be honest the body looks good the way it is to me but I am thinking about plasti dipping the front bumper where it is already painted black. The Nismo splash guards painted body color and rear diffuser. Nothing to crazy. Dropping it and spacing the wheels are going to make it look mean... |

Hey guys, I'm in Wilmington too... Bauran, I'm pretty sure I saw you in toys r us parking lot a couple weeks ago. There was cars & coffee at Chili's/Kmart yesterday. I met a guy there with a black Z. I'm just getting started with the mods... So far, K&N typhoon, Fast Intentions on the way, and about to order Swifts & spacers. I'm game to meet up anytime, I'm newbie and ready to learn more. Meeting & bs'n is always better... Meet up with another forum member last week, he's got a lowered Nismo. Let me know if either of you wanna meet up.

got baseline dyno done, if all pans out they may be my shop from here out. Got to say they got some nice rides over there, from what I saw they got the experience so we'll see. Got em checking on some mods for me atm hope they do right by me on price. They did 4 pulls for me and when it pulled 297 on first pull the guy came out to ask me if I had any mods they weren't aware of. After it peaked at 303 the boss walked out back and checked front to back to see if they could find any aftermarket mods, its bone stock... kept saying I got a good platform to build from and the word "healthy" was brought up several times, made me smile. hey all they said next meet on the calender send me a PM and I'll try to make it down. From what I hear, National speed doesn't have great rep. Not many locals go there. I'm trying a new shop this week to install springs & spacers. It's called Ti racing, in Castle Hayne.
There's another new shop near ilm airport, I think it's Carolina Dyno...? The guy I meet a couple weeks ago had his Nismo tuned there Sat. He seemed happy with them. They are an Uprev dealer too. Will let you know how it goes at TI... |

I gave TI Racing a chance, actually I went there first, I live close to there and thought it would be good to go with a shop so close by. Went over spoke with them for 30ish minutes about my plans and what parts I'd like them to price...Some of the parts they gave the impression they had no idea what I was talking about i.e. I was speaking greek. That was three weeks ago... No pricing, repeated calls either no pick up or when they did, no call back, always excuses about why I couldn't speak to the same guy as I dropped of my list to and their attitude came off as very "meh" to me. When I stopped back by they all but ignored me, my wife a petite 108 lb said to me "**** them, if you spend a dime over here I'll be mad at you". Screw em. Trying to set some of the local car guys up together, so I made a group on Facebook: Wilmington Car Enthusiast, join if interested.

BTW, decided against TI. I may have a friend of mine install the springs & spacers or go to Carolina Dyno. Thanks for the input Bauran. |

Yeah that one is nice, would love to take it out once. It's street legal but the one they have in their display area inside is straight up race (weight reduce, TT, whole 9), now that...that one would probably scare me to drive on public roads. I'd like to be in it on the track though.
That said I went there to get baseline dyno done and while I waited for a previous customer to get done with his session the manager took me to their garage area to show me all the projects they are working on; they got a sweet GTR back there that looks divine. To me their real world deeds that I could see and touch mean loads more than what I read online. I was questioning my decision before but now I think they are an alright group of people. Just the projects they have on hand and what they are doing with them is enough to impress. I haven't gotten them to do anything for me mechanically yet but when I do I'll let you know how the experience is. I have NST's on the way and being that I could and have done drive pulleys before and don't really want to hassle with it again so I may get them to do it. Quote:
No problem at all, I genuinely hate to talk down about a shop because I know how hard it is to drum up customers, especially for a newer shop, but the experience I had with them...I mean the wheels could fall off my car in front of their shop and STILL wouldn't let them touch it. But that's just me. |
