We have gaming here too. We have 6 solid months of tolerable weather. We have a ton of strip clubs. It floods in south tampa. We don't care about baseball(even though the rays are awesome). Been here since 87 and don't plan on leaving. If you like to golf, hunt, fish, or just about anything outdoors, you will like Tampa.

I'm pending an offer from Reliaquest out there as a Network Security Engineer. I just got back in town 4 days ago lol. I've gotten 4 calls in two days and have a Google+ Hangout interview tomorrow, only 10-15 min, so idk if it's an interview or what that is. They've already asked for my address info to mail me some stuff and offered relocation assistance. Hoping this doesn't fall through. Same guys who recruited me to work overseas on a Contract. It seems all too easy for an engineer position and no intense technical interview. I'm not quite ready for a full on tech eval as I've been too busy trying to get home the past month. I'll cross my fingers, I may be there in as little as two weeks!

Haha, why do you want your Xbox at the DMZ? There will be no protection by your firewall, IPS, or from the outside network and a scan across your static IP range will leave it visible for anyone who wants to attack it.

Hacking an Xbox wont net anything. Plus the system structure shouldnt allow any popular worm or trojan to do any damage that I am aware of. As for why I want to do it I have seen first hand how much better the system runs with no firewall and all the ports open.

Are you planning on having a static address to your router? That requires a business account and costs a bit more.

This is where is gets a little fuzzy to me though, well also setting up all the items the correct way. When I get real serious about it we can talk via PM's or text messages/phone. I dont want to junk up the thread with my gaming woes

A router will prefer to renew it's up address from the isp if possible. Problem is it renews every 24 hours if I remember correctly. The isp will then lease that address to another router you statically assigned if your router does not request it again or if your router disconnects from the isp. The ISP uses a different subnet allocated specifically for static up addresses seperate from dhcp subnets. Your Xbox is not a router, it can't host your network for other devices, or forward traffic. The router will treat your Xbox as an edge device. You still must host your private home network with your router. Keep in mind, your Xbox plugs into the router.
You can however directly connect your Xbox with a static address to your modem and will communicate directly with the isp default gateway. I don't recommend this as you might save microseconds in latency. Just buy a router that prioritizes gaming traffic. Alright, turning off nerd mode lol.
