Well, it's a done deal. Vette is on its way from LA and will take a little while to get here. This wasn't an easy decision because of how much I love the Z and the great folks here. Probably the best moment of Z ownership was getting to meet Joe in person, a fellow vet like me also recovering from back injury. I was looking forward to meeting the rest of the Tampa crew and hang out or turn wrenches.
I've always wanted a Vette but could never get one until just now, probably because the C7 got released and poor folk like me can finally afford a used C6. It's not because I tried out the Z, hated it and switched. You know what they say: everyone should own a Vette once in their life. This has been a long time dream but the timing puts me in a bad position because of all the Z mods I just bought. I've had my Z for seven months and only put on about 300 miles. Most of the time, it has been in the garage while I've been spending a fortune and amassing parts for it. I almost jumped on Kelly's SC kit when this all went down. Well, here it is. Not a Grand Sport because that's still way out of my price range, even a high-mileage one but very, very nice IMO. It's at the right price and right interest rate. It has only 9K on the odometer and comes with the 3LT package (buncha cool stuff including heads-up display). Last edited by MX52Z; 08-25-2013 at 05:18 PM. Reason: Added photos |

Yeah mon! Six-speed manual but I have to confess, I would have taken an automatic over it because I wouldn't have to articulate my hips as much (still a little painful at times).
The Z parts for sale...yeah, that's the dilemma. I have to turn the Z in in five days so what took me six months to do, I have to undo in just days to return to stock. Otherwise, I lose all the money I've spent on mods and I pretty much need it to offset the deposit on the Vette. Although not for sale, I have to remove all my aftermarket audio I just installed which means interior removal again, dammit. Then to top it all off, I have to prep the Miata to sell/trade in because that's part of the deal. All of this in a matter of days. It's like fate telling me "yeah, you can have the Vette of your dreams if you only agree to a week of torture". This isn't my official sale thread yet but as a heads-up to the locals, I will have a ton of new and barely used (and I mean less than 300 miles used) parts for sale shortly. I need every waking moment right now to remove and replace parts along with swallowing a bottle of Ibuprofen so I won't be taking lots of pictures and creating a huge ad until after the ordeal. There is no way I'll have time to ship anything this week and I don't know how much I'm asking for parts yet, cheaper than new of course and better if picked up or if someone buys multiple items. What I will have for sale will depend on how successful I am at removing by the end of the week. Some parts have never been installed, still new in their containers indicated as NIB. Just off the top of my head: Nissan OEM locking lug nuts (proper, collared acorns) x4 + key Zoom Engineering convex side mirrors (like Joe's) NIB Nissan aluminum, illuminated door sill trim with wiring/plugs (installed but pristine and clear plastic protective covers still on Nissan pull-out trunk shade GTR clear lenses GTR red start button Nissan rear fog light, NIB Zstore wiring kit tor rear fog, inc. OEM switch that goes in between seat heater switches, relay, wiring etc. Evo-R rear diffuser, never installed NIB Evo-R Nismo high wing, still NIB RJM aftermarket clutch pedal assembly (best improvement ever) Kelly Fields hood lift kit (NIB) Nissan shift paddles Nissan steering column trim for shift paddles Aerojacket front fenders Trying to think of what else... Sold Swift springs Whiteline sway bars, front and rear Whiteline sway bar slide locks, front and rear SPL swiveling links, front Whiteline swiveling links, rear Drilled and slotted rotors with new pads front and rear Kinetix front control arm, camber adjustable Kinetix rear camber arm Kinetix rear toe arm Spec Performance camber bolts (+/-3 degree additional camber) NIB H&R 20mm forged spacers x4 + extended lug nuts x20 TWM short shift kit Oil cooler and sandwich Last edited by MX52Z; 08-27-2013 at 07:30 PM. Sorry to see someone getting rid of their Z, love the color of vette though. I'm in for some parts. If chpt11 doesn't take the springs I will. Is the rear diffuser cf? If so I might be interested in that as well. I just ordered my Mirrors a few weeks ago or I would take those too. Good luck with your deconstruction project this week.

I keep updating my original post so be careful with the subsequent quotes because they're incomplete.
I'm tempted to do a package deal on all suspension parts together, say $500 for everything but buyer has to come here and r&r the stock parts back in. Otherwise, I don't think I can get everything off myself in the time I have left, thus, cannot promise the listed items will officially be available to sell. I wish I could keep the Z because it's still sexier than the Vette but I don't think of it as "getting rid" of it because it bums me out. Yeah, that orange folor though...dayum! The rear diffuser is fiberglass, haven't installed it. Last edited by MX52Z; 08-25-2013 at 09:41 PM. |

Thank you for the comment brother. Sad to see your Z go but your Corvette is beautiful. Some one will be lucky to have your Z. Congrats

What I have to sell beginning next week will be determined by how much I can get done this week. I cannot quote anyone a price for something unless I can get it off the car by the Friday deadline. However, I did just make a deal with someone for all the suspension parts because he's going to come here and work all day to swap back in my stock parts as part of a deal. There's just no way I could have physically done it myself in time so I'd rather make some money rather than lose it. Thank you for your understanding. |
