Im excited to possibly see your gem in person!
I'm pending an offer from Reliaquest out there as a Network Security Engineer. I just got back in town 4 days ago lol. I've gotten 4 calls in two days and have a Google+ Hangout interview tomorrow, only 10-15 min, so idk if it's an interview or what that is. They've already asked for my address info to mail me some stuff and offered relocation assistance. Hoping this doesn't fall through. Same guys who recruited me to work overseas on a Contract. It seems all too easy for an engineer position and no intense technical interview. I'm not quite ready for a full on tech eval as I've been too busy trying to get home the past month. I'll cross my fingers, I may be there in as little as two weeks!

Haha, why do you want your Xbox at the DMZ? There will be no protection by your firewall, IPS, or from the outside network and a scan across your static IP range will leave it visible for anyone who wants to attack it.

We have gaming here too. We have 6 solid months of tolerable weather. We have a ton of strip clubs. It floods in south tampa. We don't care about baseball(even though the rays are awesome). Been here since 87 and don't plan on leaving. If you like to golf, hunt, fish, or just about anything outdoors, you will like Tampa.

Are you planning on having a static address to your router? That requires a business account and costs a bit more.

I dont think so...I thought by making a DMZ host everything on the network needed a static ip so the router will not try and select the same ip for something already in use (possibly the host ip).

This is where is gets a little fuzzy to me though, well also setting up all the items the correct way. When I get real serious about it we can talk via PM's or text messages/phone. I dont want to junk up the thread with my gaming woes

A router will prefer to renew it's up address from the isp if possible. Problem is it renews every 24 hours if I remember correctly. The isp will then lease that address to another router you statically assigned if your router does not request it again or if your router disconnects from the isp. The ISP uses a different subnet allocated specifically for static up addresses seperate from dhcp subnets. Your Xbox is not a router, it can't host your network for other devices, or forward traffic. The router will treat your Xbox as an edge device. You still must host your private home network with your router. Keep in mind, your Xbox plugs into the router.

You can however directly connect your Xbox with a static address to your modem and will communicate directly with the isp default gateway. I don't recommend this as you might save microseconds in latency. Just buy a router that prioritizes gaming traffic.

Alright, turning off nerd mode lol.

Haha, I'm not even recovered from your wrench-turning marathon yesterday so it's going to be a few days... Vette comes in in the 9th. Apparently I'm persona-non-grata in the Vette universe because I won't be getting a Z06 and I'm under 80.

You should be fine with the vette. My dad is in the Tampa Bay Vettes and he's always doing corvette stuff around the Tampa area. He's your at heart so he gets along well with the younger members well.

Well today was a good day. Went to Kelly's and we pulled the motor out. Came out nice and easy, the trick is getting the new on in and the wire harness back on correctly. Man its gonna suck.

Not sure yet if we will install the Super Charger or not. He has been trying to sell it but keeps getting people who have no clue how much it really takes to install a Super Charge on there car. I am simple minded, I sell the kit for a price, everything else is on you; you get to install it, tune it, that's how it goes.

Funny thing is he offered to install it for who ever buys it for $500.00 with some stock parts in exchange. "Great Deal" and people want:
1. Tune & License $1000.00
2. Install $500.00
3. Kit $4500.00

And offer $4000.00 for all of it. Freakin amazing !!! I'm an easy going guy and I don't understand; what people think this is Obama Care or something..

None of my business "I get it", I just hate seeing someone offer to help install the kit at a fraction of what it really costs just to have people wast his time. Home of the brave and land of low ball, time wasting fuc sticks..

New motor should be ready to install soon, will update. Sorry for my ranting, I work on a lot of cars and people always trying to get stuff done for free.Do it your self "Its Free".
