I see you are from Tampa. I will guess what you saw was the group of Mitsubishi Eclipses meet. They will have some kind of car show in the morning and after they finish their meet they will start heading to the beach meet. So they mentioned that if you want to get to their location before 12, you are all welcome. But I know they will leave after 12, it all depend if you want to go straight to the beach or go with them.

I tell you this:

This is the organizer of the Eclipse Meet and this is what he posted under our event, you can go to FB if you have one and post something.

"Jason Willis
Anyone leaving from the Tampa area that doesn't mind getting to the beach meet late we are leaving Tampa Mitsubishi at noon! Thats 12PM!!! We will be there al morning so feel free to show up and hang out with us!"

This is your second option. I will be in Tampa and Saturday morning we are going to buy the meet, ice and everything that is cold. NavySailor (Steven Urena) my other admin will be heading to the beach with another group around 10 or so. You are also welcome to contact him on our forum Xtreme Events: Cars of Florida or trough FB and roll out to the beach with them.

Didn't have the chance to have my six packs ready but I do have a lot of beer belly as life saver in the beach just in case! haha

lol nice, well be in contact with OSIRIS so you can drive with all of them, it seems is going to be a big group coming from Orlando. We are all exited and we are more exited that after almost everyhing got ruin by Debbie, it clear out and it should be a beautiful day for us to enjoy :D

Thanks for the info Manny, I will suggest it might be better to take I 4 to 75 south and then go north on the skyway bridge i predict that I 4 through tampa will probably be packed as usually on a saturday. it only adds about 4 mins to the drive but will save you a headache if the I4 is a parking lot.

isn't there a difference in tolls going that route?

kellyefields 06-27-2012 06:33 PM

there is but it is only a couple of bucks if I remember correctly.

Just curious, is anyone joining the Orlando caravan coming from the Sanford area?

Zoren 370 06-28-2012 08:54 PM

I know the skies would be clear on Saturday how about floods along the way are there any?
Here in Live Oak is still well underwater as of today. I just don't know about Orlando going to St.Pete any info Osiris?

Zoren 370 06-28-2012 09:02 PM

We will be meeting at the I4 rest area which is at mile marker 46 just west of Exit 48. Please be prompt because we will most likely roll out at 10:15 or 10:20. Please reply to this thread if you will be meeting us here so that we know to look for you.

Does this schedule and location still holds for the Orlando Caravan?
What is name for Exit 48? How do I get to I4 i if I'm coming from 75 going south?

If you're coming down I75 south, then meeting us on I4 is probably not practical. It would be back tracking. We may just need to meet you there.

Hello there everyone,

Well after our event was almost ruined by Tropical storm Debbie it seems that we will have great weather tomorrow. All the good vibe from the people that want to go, made the storm disappear just in time. So here we go.

Tomorrow will be one of the biggest Beach Meets that XECOFL will have in years and we hope that we can bring you guys a great day. There is a lot of information everywhere but for the latest information like Caravan Cruise, Attendee List, etc visit our forum. Here are the 3 links you may want to follow up:

Event information
2012 JUN 30 - The Beach Meet

Orlando Caravan
Beach Meet Orlando Caravan

SFL Caravan
S.FL Beach Meet Convoy

And for those in Tampa
There is a conversation of meeting a group of Eclipses which will be heading to the beach after 12pm Under our Facebook Event.
https://www.facebook.com/events/231891543579099/

If you want to be at the beach earlier than that, we will try to be at the beach around 10am and wouldn't mind some extra company or help setting up if your willing to.

Our main site Xtreme Events: Cars of Florida has a clean layout with tons of information including addresses and a number to contact if you need help arriving or run into problems. We are very exited that this idea is coming through Club4G and we want to thank the Club4g.org site for choosing us to organize this event for everyone. All we can say is THANK YOU! to all our fans for your support and see you tomorrow.

FINAL REMINDERS
- There may and probably will be tolls on the way to Ft. De Soto so please have Sunpass/E-pass or cash ready.
- There is a $5 entrance fee to Ft. De Soto that is totally separate from us. I HIGHLY suggest bringing cash just in case they don't accept credit cards or their Credit Card Machine is down.
- The cost to purchase a food wristband is $10 both today and at the beach. Please check in with either NavysailorMS3G or ya boy willz when you arrive to the beach to receive your food wristband if you have already paid. Please bring either your license, a photo ID, or your confirmation e-mail of payment pulled up on your phone when you go to get your food wristband. We don't want to give your wristband to someone else claiming to be you and you definitely don't want us to give your wristband to someone else.

Below is a map of Ft. De Soto. We have shelters 6 and 7 reserved so make sure you know how to get there. The recommended route is highlighted in red, but if you want to loop around or explore the park before arriving go ahead.
