Hey guys. Just a head's up. Spread this around to as many clubs and forums as you may be involved with. I just got back from the EMCO Classic and we didn't have very many cars. I think by Saturday afternoon, we may have had maybe 10 or 12 cars.

The crew that ran the Corral and Hospitality were great. Andy is a great guy and knows a butt load of people in the race industry. Also, Brandy ain't bad to look at either. ;)

They tried a switcheroo on us for the "parade" lap. Originally, they said that it would be at 10am, then tried to change it to 6pm. Andy pulled some strings and the Z and GTR guys got to go out on track by ourselves. We got two full laps and got between 60 and 70 a couple of times. If everyone had been on track, I doubt we would have gotten over 30. It was freakin' awesome! :driving:

Enjoy yourselves guys, after this weekend, I am tempted to do Petit Lemans too, but my wallet says otherwise.

Anybody want to help me go through 2600 pictures? :ugh2:

Thanks HK, battery pack came in handy. Of course I think I should have spent a little more on memory cards. I shot RAW for two days and filled the one card that I had up by about 1pm on Friday.

Sounds awesome. I've been trying to get more to come. The guys at Z1 were going to try to make it out. Seems as if the Forged Performance guys always make it out to all the Road Atlanta events

yea ryan@forged and robert from nagtroc are coming. couple others are trying to make it as well. i know dustin and several others from Z1 are coming too.

Yes I did last night. Not sure what that's about. I assume it's just standard email. I try calling the guy. No answer.

Ok guys just talk to Andy. He's the one that sent the email. Yes you do need to confirm you address and number. Either reply to his email or call him. Email should be fine. They are sending the packets out tomorrow and they will be coming FedEx.

Andy is an awesome guy to deal with so you shouldn't have any issues getting the tickets if you've replied to him. If someone needs an email address or phone number, let me know.

I woke up today with a Fed-Ex mailer on my doorstep. Inside were two tickets, a parking pass for Sat, and the itinerary for the weekend. Haven't been to Road A since last summer for a track day on my CBR. I'm excited...love that track!

No tickets for me yet, I did get my gopro from fedex today though :)

Yeah, I'm contemplating getting a hotel nearby so i don't have to drive 3 hours home friday night just to turn around and drive 3 hours to get back in the morning.

Wish I could be there Friday. I'm just trying to save all the vaction time I can at work. They let us build up to 500 hours worth and I want to hit that mark.

Question, has anyone made hotel reservations? Any suggestions of places i should try in say a 10-15 mile radius?

Not sure what's up there. But if you go on Road Atlanta's site they more than likely have recommendations on hotels.

One other questions i have since i got the tickets. Will I be able to walk out to various areas of the track for picture taking? I would love to get out to the esses and get some pics there as well as the downhill run into the chicane.

I don't see why not. I've never seen any restrictions on where you can go there. But to get pics of the esses you'll have to drive around to the back side of the track and walk out on to the hill that over looks the esses. The chicane would also be a good place to take some.

If it's like the Mid-Ohio event, we had run of the whole track. I was worn out by the time I got back to my hotel in the evenings.
We even got paddock passes and a tour through the paddock. You might email Andy and ask him.

Just got mine this evening! I ll be going up Friday evening (arriving around 10 PM). If you want to camp over night, you an show up the day before after 10 PM to set up camp.

....probably tossing the air mattress into the bed of the truck and putting the pop-up tent over the truck bed to keep the dew off over night.

Dunno where I'll be posted up or camping yet. BTW...you can go ALMOST anywhere. There are a few spots off limits due to safety (obviously).

Bring your sneakers!! The hills in the center of the property will give you a workout!! Anybody heading Sat morning want to meet and drive up???

I might take you up on this. The night life around Road Atlanta during Petit is alot of fun. I have alot of friends, from many industries and backgrounds, camping as well. Plus trying to leave Saturday night after the race is a freakin NIGHTMARE!
I did it once and attempted to leave when everyone else did....4 hrs later we were finally at the gate. The race ends around 10:00 PM usually and is about a 1.5 hr ride for me. I did not get home until extremely late ....or early depending on which way you look at it.

I prefer just to sleep there at the track Saturday night and not fight the chaos. I can get up Sunday morning and then head home with relative ease.

actually if you crash at my place you could also attend caffeine and octane in the morning and then head out

If I take you up on the offer it will be Friday night. I'll let you know. Saturday night I plan on just camping at the track. Getting out of there after the race is miserable.

ok. yeah you should come by. I bet your truck might struggle going up my driveway too :p

I wanted to do a crack of Dawn run to the track Sat AM. We can hammer down a meet up place & time Fri eve. Anyone else is welcome to roll also.
