Anyway, here's a vid for you to get an idea of the FI sound, this is my stillen g3/fi lth/ cf non resd cbe set up, and I absolutely love it. I get millions of compliments on it, and it's still a fairly unique setup since a lot of people want resonators or the SS cans or TPs. Also, you're somewhat local, so if you're ever in the brevard county area or if you come to one of our meets, we can go for a drive for you to hear it if you like. I'm sure I can make a Fast Intentions convert out of you yet

yeah. true dual exhaust. but even at that they are a bit pricey.
whatever you do though, don't mix and match parts, most set ups are optimized to be used with their matching parts - ie FI headers/TP/HFC/CBE, motordyne tp/cbe, ark cbe/tp/hfc etc. if you mix and match parts you will likely get some undesirable noises, but of course there are some mix and match set ups that compliment each other well also. do it once, do it right. i tried saving money with my first set of intakes, hfc and exhaust and I just ended up replacing the whole set up after a year and a half, which just cost me more money in the long run.

dude I feel you, sad to say I came from the honda world where a good skunk racing exhaust would set you back a whopping $400, and DC sports headers were like $250-$300. My FI exhaust cost me like almost $3k with shipping

Really? I thought you had a motordyne for some reason, it didn't sound stock at the track the other night.

This is the FI? "370Z TDX Cat Back Exhaust System" on their website? I've run catless/non-resonator on my last two cars so I'm not particularly wanting to have either in this.

the FI sounds too calm from the videos I've seen, the Invidia sounded the best (again, videos I've watched). I have considered both though, and I'm not sure which one to buy once I have a little bit of money again. As far as headers, I don't have money/patience to look into headers. The manifold will hold up just fine until I can supercharge the car. Quote:
Can the Invidia really be that bad? What's that? |
