Was a good week in the Cape, saw 3 Zs. Most I have seen in a while. 1 PW Sport or Base, nice black wheels, 1 Black Sport stock and a sunkist orange 350z. Needless to say I didn't get to actually meet the owners :| but it was good to see some around.
Has anybody heard of NUR performance in Ft Myers, any feedback or your experience with them is greatly appreciated. Time for new rotors/pads and looking for a place around here to do the install. I have read and read and watched vids on the DIY's. I want to DIY just don't have the right tools to do so, need another set of jacks, and a bleeder. Their price for stoptech plus installation seems reasonable. Any thoughts thanks. |

Thanks Datsun, sounds good, I live in the Cape. Ft Myers is right next door as you already know. Estero is not too far about 40 minutes for me. I will def try to make it, would be awesome to finally meet some other Z enthusiast like myself. My Z is damn near stock, nothing extraordinary except that I absolutely love it......on a side note I am saving up my pennies for my next project.

Good news, and bad news. The bad news is I spoke to a employee at NUR performance this morning about replacing the brakes in my Z. I was told that Akebono does not exist on the Nissans period and it was only Brembo calipers.....Then was told that a base/touring Stoptech package not including install was $$$$. The Sport-Nismo version is probably much higher, I didn't bother to ask. When I mentioned ordering the kit myself from Z1, I was also told that Z1 rotors are pure crap and that I should stay away from them (I honestly don't believe that due to the fact that their rotors are centric core which is what Stoptech is). I understand trying to sell a customer your product but giving them bad info is not good business IMHO. Unfortunately I had my hopes up really high with this place expecting them to be a little more knowledgeable about Nissan in general.
The other bad news, a family member passed away recently and the memorial service is scheduled for this Saturday, so unfortunately I will not be able to make it to Naples Meet as much as I really want to go. Now the good, I joined the South Florida Z-Club FB page, great group of people. Thanks Datsun for the info. I also decided to man up and do the brakes myself and order the bleeder, I just don't feel comfortable or confident that a shop will do a better install as myself and put as much care into it as I would. |

Hello All!
New to South Florida but not new to the forum. I am actually from MD and have been mostly on the MAZOC part of the forum but with the move comes a new part of the forum. Now living in Pompano Beach. I have seen a few 370s while down here already. Are there any Z meets down in the Ft Lauderdale/Pompano area?

I don't know who it was that answered the phone, I don't think it was Dan, the guy I spoke with sounded really young, and I honestly think it might have been a miscommunication. The guy might have thought I said 350 at first, but I said 370z a few times. I am not giving up on NUR until I actually visit the shop and speak with them in person as it may have been a communication issue.
I ordered the EBC USR rotors from amazon and EBC red stuff from ebay vendor. I was debating for a while over crossed drilled/slotted and just slotted. After 4 days of reading different brake threads on several forums I decided that slotted will work. Then I was debating between Z1 and EBC rotors. I went back and fourth back and fourth, then decided that EBC is primary known for brakes so I went that route, although Z1 is just as good (centric rotors from what I understand) and Z1 price is better. Thanks for the invite I might have to take you up on that offer, I am trying to knock out as much as I can as far as maintenance and mods in these next 2 weeks, before summer semester starts back up.
