Not commenting on the capitalist stuff honestly, just saying some of us follow ethical lines of business practice, others do not. If you are cool with that, go to where you choose.

I take it you are a for a different shop?

In business, you make as much money as possible. Simple as that. If a business is feeling charitable, they'll donate to a charity and get a tax write off, not some cheap azz who wants parts installed at cost.

Ethical profit? You've got to be kidding me. This is a capitalist society where we aim to make as high a profit as market conditions allow. There is absolutely no need whatsoever to drag a shop's name through the mud simply because you don't agree with their pricing... just choose another shop and get on with your life.
Harumph!

The prices forged quoted is about right for hourly work done. However, 3.5 hours for a bolt on intake and 2.5 hours on a bolt on cat back exhaust and 1.5 hours on a cat converter is ridiculous. I am going on the pic as quoted. It took me 45 mins on the street to pull my stock exhaust and install the GTM 3" adding cats is tricky and takes about an hour for an experienced tech. Intakes on the other hand is like a 30min deal... That being said the guys at forged performance take their time... that can be seen as a good thing and a bad thing. Honestly, I would rather do it myself then pay $105/hr for them to milk the time to get it done. This is where they make their profit just like if a dealership was doing the work... charge you $700 for an install and really only be paying the tech $120 or so to do the work. I would prefer if the OP take their car elsewhere. Their car will be safer in the long run and they will get a better deal.

Literally any shop with the right tools, competent techs and a lift can do the HFC's and exhaust in 3 hrs (ben had his done in this time not at forged). Intake is the easiest install you can do on this car for performance parts. I would say max 1 hour of labor. overall you should have 4 hours of labor and about a $400 bill NOT $695!!!! Forged Performance is over priced from this bill and from my past experience... I was given a bait and switch but I will not go into that. Be careful and READ the fine print!!!! Check out Z1 much better service and pricing

The porpose of this forum is for information and community, nobody is an expert on everything...so if someone posts this quote and asks for thoughts, your damn right people are gonna speak up if its unjust! People, shops, dealers, vendors ect..need to realize that anything you say and do to anyone is subject for scrutiny at the expense of thier reputation. All these people on here with thier little segregate attitudes bashing the OP for posting information that could be helpful to a less informed person is retarded. If you dont like the idea of community, dont be on this site

Your "ethical lines of business practice" argument is comical.

Charging $15 for a bottle of water in a hurricane ravaged town is unethical.

Charging a relatively high labor rate and relatively high prices on goods is NOT unethical. Unreasonable? Perhaps. But enethical, not at all. And again, considering there are other lower-cost shops in the ATL area and Forged is STILL in business they obviously are doing something right. Their clients obviously find value in their services and are willing to pay a premium.

If what Forged is doing is unethical, then:

A car dealership asking MSRP for a vehicle is unethical.

A botique watch shop charging 35% more than an online shop is unethical.

A grocery store charging $6.99 for a 4-pack of Red Bull instead of $5.99 like the one down the street is unethical.

I could go on and on, but I'm sure everyone else gets the point.
