CXP 18% and 70% windshield

If you want to meet up and sit in the car so you can get a feel for it I'm happy to help.

I had 20% on my old car and loved it, is it just the extra warranty that makes the cxp better or does it keep the car cooler compared to standard?

The film itself is slightly different, but with the windshield at 70% the heat blocking is amazing.

I need to get the front window tint on my truck redone and Tint Solutions will be doing it when the budget allows. Everyone and their brother in this area recommends them so that must mean something.

Guys I have to admit that I cant stand window tint. Because I cant see through it driving at night. Butt it really does make a car look good, keeps it cooler, etc. What percent tent do yall recommend for me.

I have never had any of my cars tinted before. If I can find a tint that allows me to see at night the new car is going in for it. Thanks guys. Obviously no windshield tint for me.

Also I do not understand the percentage value's when it comes to tint.

I would recommend a "light" tint, usually around 35% (the % number is the % of light the tint allows to pass through, so 35% is lighter than 20% for example). My car has ~20% all the way around, but not the windshield, and I have no real issues seeing out of it. My truck has 35% on the front door windows. Most trucks and SUV's have the equivalent ~20% on the rear glass from the factory.

I think I'm going to mostly agree with Patrick on this one but I'll throw in my 2-3 cents.

I would go with 35% all around if you have issues at night as it stands, it shouldn't make it worse at that level. If you don't have issues at night presently but don't want to induce them I'd go 18% rear and 35% sides. I've driven cars with several different levels of rear tint and frankly...I notice almost no difference in rear-facing visibility other than the color of the headlights behind you.

I would also probably do a 80% tint on the windshield. I know what you might be thinking about the windshield but hear me out. 80% is damn near clear and will still block heat/UV like a boss since the percentage has much less to do with blocking heat/UV in the grand scheme of things. At 80% on the front you're still blocking almost half of the energy that would get in and better than 99% of the UV. I opted for 70% and have not regretted it even for a moment.

Please reference this sheet for a point of reference:

+1 for the windshield. It makes such a difference in temps and uv damage to interiors

Almost everyone that rides with me eventually seems to comment on how much cooler it is inside the car. It's a huge difference when you turn your AC on during the summer months as well. You can cool the cabin much faster and the AC has a much easier time keeping it at that level because so much less heat gets inside. Another big added perk for someone who's extremely light sensitive is that at the 70% level, speaking from experience, I can drive without sunglasses if I happen to forget them or leave them at home...without the sunglasses I'd be making a trip back to wherever I left them before I went anywhere in the car.

Good stuff, we have the appointment(s) on Saturday at 1PM. Might do 25% carbon on mine, I don't like the super blacked out look. Definitely doing the windshield though.

It's AV-Tuning and Development. Anthony is the owners name. He is a great tuner and good guy. His personal GTR is a monster. I'm not sure which forums they are on but he asked if I knew you so he must have seen something on a forum.
