Default Fun roads near Clayton/Raleigh??(NC)

okay so i move to north carolina about 3 months ago and i like it here a lot, but to be honest, where i am located, i am having a really rough time finding fun twisty roads..i don't want to have to do a 4 hour drive to the mountains just for some driving fun.. i am willing to drive like 15-25 minutes or so though, maybe 30.. but yeah, i am located in clayton, so if anyone is around me and knows of some areas, pleaseeee shed some info, it'll be GREATLY appreciated.. thanks

-Dan

yea none that i know of in that area, head towards king, nc to the mountains near the border of VA/NC and i'm sure you'll find some. VIR is a great place to track and there is an www.asphaltventures.com event coming up at the end of the month. good way for some HPDE track time at a relatively low cost

nooo dont get me wrong 2 hours isn't bad at all, im talking more on an almost daily basis if you get what im saying, like the 2 hours isn't bad for the track, but i'm not gonna travel 2 hours just to go have fun, i was thinking more along the line of like a half hour radius from me lol

hey dan check out boat ramp road in hollysprings there is also the okee loop which my bike group hits up occasionally. check out our site for roads/group rides NCSportbikes.com. also if you've got some time on your hands check out shady valley and deals gap(which i did labor day) for some very challenging roads.

map is tame, get it up around 55-60 toward the end and its fun. for great roads you have to go to the mountains. closest place i can think of is around mt pilot or squirrel spur va.
