Sebring Raceway HPDE w/ Chin Motorsports - 12/11/10, who's in?!

So I've decided to join Chin Motorsports to do my HPDE's. I thought it would be cool to get some of us to go together.

I'm going to go on 12/11 to Sebring for my first HPDE. I wanted to see if there are any other Z owners (or whoever else from the forum) that would also want to go.

You can check out more info at Chin MotorSports - More Tracks, More Track Time!.

I'm also going to post this in the Track section.

im very interested in doing this with you, im in port saint lucie and have been looking for a more convenient outlet for track driving. can you tell me what you did to join and how it works?

flashburn 10-15-2010 08:46 AM

I just clicked the "Join" button on their page, and paid the $50 annual membership fee. That's I believe the same amount NASA charges, but Chin does way more events in the South East area.

Event Registration for the 12/11-12/12 event isn't open yet, but it should be in a few days.

I'm planning on doing Sebring 2-3 times a year, Miami 1-2 times a year, and maybe Road Atlanta once.

chin is a bit on the expensive side for me. i do roebling in savannah a couple times a year with dark side de for under $250 for 2 days. but i need to get back to sebring to make up for my poor driving during redline time attacks hpde but not sure when.

6spd 10-17-2010 09:35 PM

yeah, 600 big ones is a bit much.

flashburn 10-18-2010 05:19 AM

For two days, it is, but their single day prices are the same as NASA. Also, it's for 3 hours of track time each day. I think NASA is closer to 1 1/2 hours.

Registration opens tonight at 10pm, in case anyone else is interested. It would be cool if some others would go as well.

6spd 10-25-2010 07:55 PM

I just checked their website and they don't list a single Sebring event from now until the end of 2011.

The good thing about Chin is they seem to do 4-6 Sebring events every year.

My brother-in-law and I were just talking about this a couple weeks ago. So I may be there.

flashburn 10-27-2010 07:20 AM

Awesome. I signed up and paid yesterday.

This sucks that is on the same day as our THE RUN 8 charity poker run event in Tampa...

Ah, damn, so I'm sure that will cut into the number of potential people then. Well, the good news is they do Sebring quite a bit (along with Miami), so I'll probably make another thread for the next one.

i thought you made the bigggggggggg bucks man!!

Only 10 Novice slots left. You got a fast car, might as well put it to the test!

Osiris 11-16-2010 09:28 AM

Looks awesome, but definitely a bit pricey per event.

Not really, compared to any other group that does Sebring. It's only +/- $50 difference between other groups, and this one provides more track time than the others. This is a legendary track, 17 turns, 3.7 miles, it's pretty epic.

Blah, I'm tired of trying to sell this to people, you guys suck. :icon23: So many people here that spend $3000+ for wheels, $2000 for exhaust, etc, and you whine over spending under $400 for an entire day of intense high performance driving and instruction? Pretty weak guys.

Anyway, I'm done. Thought it would be cool to get some other 370Z's there, but clearly everyone else has other priorities when it comes to their Z. :wtf2:

w0ady 11-17-2010 08:30 AM

lol it happens. its even worse with the g37 crowd so dont stress yourself out. from a track standpoint, sebring is more expensive than some but thats because its a bigger, more technical track. definitely a fun place and id def like to go back if it wasnt the same weekend as the run. i think my buddy bryan will be down there running his 350z though. definitely hit him up for some pointers, hes an awesome driver/instructor.
