FYI on the tail of the dragon
If your were thinking about driving the tail of the dragon and what is happening in that area via facebook https://www.facebook.com/tailofthedragon/ UPDATE 3/23 - Swain County NC will be shutting down all accommodations starting Tuesday 3/24 at noon. This includes accommodations near Bryson City and lodging at DGMR. For now, Swain County does not have any road closures. The Dragon IS CURRENTLY OPEN. The road block at US129/Hwy28 begins this Friday (3/27). At that time, your only access to the Dragon will be from TN side. The only way to pass the barricade at US129/28 is with proof of residence in Graham County. The Tail of the Dragon/Killboy store will be open on the weekends as long as the road remains open http://www.swaincountync.gov/page_fi...SScovidSOE.pdf It does not say for how long, I will try to get this thread posted..... |

Welp, the deed has been done. ZDayz has been postponed. They're saying it will still happen this year, but no date yet.

tail of the dragon update
https://www.facebook.com/tailofthedragon/ UPDATE 3/24: The entire 11 mile section of the Dragon IS OPEN. Advisory signs have been placed at the intersection of US411 and US129 in Tennessee. This is to advise the public that on Friday, US129 will be blocked in North Carolina at the intersection of US129 and Hwy28. Only local traffic will be allowed past this intersection. You will have to turn around at the road block if you are not a resident of Graham County. Killboy photographers will be on the Dragon taking photos. The Tail of the Dragon/Killboy store may be open during the weekend, unless we are mandated to close. We also understand that Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort will remain open. We will enforce social distancing. :happydance: sounds like next week when back in town, need to check it out |

He put cancelled, but I never even committed to going in the first place. The only thing I did was reserve a plane ticket (cause SW will let me cancel up to 10 min prior to the flight departure). Haven't even registered.

highly doubt i'll go without a fun car and minimal people attending. kind ruins it and not worth 700 mile back and forth. |

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the November event as I already have something scheduled on the 14th :(
Looking forward to next year. Car will definitely be running by then. It honestly better be running by the original 2020 May dates :driving: |

What the hey, you say!!! Driving those roads in November may not be a good idea.... Hmmmm...
|
Maybe we could get a group of our forum-goers to set something up in that area in October? 15-20 of us meeting up, I'd be good with that idea. I wasn't going to be able to make Zdayz this year anyway, so it'd be a win for me.

A buddy and I go to TougeFest up there every October. The weather is usually great and there’s a good mix of cars. We’ve met a lot of good people at TF. It’s also not as crowded. |

On a personal note, hope you're doing great, all things considered. That goes for everyone on the forum, too! |
