So, I now understand why they call them stealerships... Went to Hudson for a brake check and a "27-point express inspection," which made a $135 dent in my wallet... I find that semi-ridiculous. My logic for going there originally was the fact that my car is still under warranty for a little bit longer (I'm at 55k of 60k miles), so any major failures are still free. Dealership recommended a diff oil change for $134 (easy to take care of myself) and a "trans service" for $235. The manual says that auto tranny fluid is "maintenance free," so I'm unsure as to what this service entails... Asked a dealership in WA state how much it would be to swap out alternator and crank pulley with parts in hand and was quoted $300. I asked service advisor at Hudson and he scoffed. They also did not include my inspection sheet with the receipt. Oversights probably due to me being really hungry and tired from work.
Anyways, where do you Charleston guys trust to get your cars worked on and/or checked out? Thanks! -Brett |
