Alabama weekend cruise

Well since trying to get a meet going at steele wasn't much of a success I figured I'd give this a shot. I'm hoping to get some Z/G/GTR guys together for a cruise one weekend. Nothing major just going out, finding some fun back roads and highways to hit up. If anyone would be interested, let me know and we'll see what we can work out!!

cjwsrt6 09-05-2015 01:47 PM

Just a thought, instead of a meet or cruise, how about an autocross? Actually use the car for what we bought? The next one I will be attending is in Hoover on the 20th if anyone is interested. I can attach some info below, if you have any questions let me know
Points #7 Registration is OPEN - Alabama Region Sports Car Club of America

PS we have two 370'z registered now, not including my co-driver

MicntaeG35 09-05-2015 03:41 PM

That sounds awesome. I'll probably register next week

Mysilverz 09-07-2015 02:06 AM

I'm always interested in meeting up.

I'll be there. Also come autocross in Huntsville the following weekend! It'd be nice to have more 370s out.

just curious, why run novice? looks like youve attended some sort of championship or event and looking at your times doing very well.

zpower86 09-07-2015 07:01 PM

This is my first year autocrossing. So I started in novice. Was thinking of just running b street, but I don't know how that works for points.

In Huntsville their policy is you start in novice, then after you win 2, you get bumped out and compete at the end of the year with other 2-time winning novices.

Im getting my transmission replaced under warranty next week, hopefully they'll have everything done by then and I can make it out

MicntaeG35 09-09-2015 02:50 PM

What happend to the tranny?

cjwsrt6 09-09-2015 09:00 PM

I had a grind going from 4th to 6th and it is under warranty so they're gonna replace it for me

MicntaeG35 09-09-2015 10:01 PM

Ouch. I had mine replaced at about 280 because I didn't know the tranny had alot of chatter sonic thought something was wrong with it and the dealer replaced it under warranty. That's when I had my bad experience with the heavy duty CSC

I forget to look here but I am interested in the cruise. I'm in Birmingham so if anyone needs help at the AutoX I can most likely come out for support. I don't have a helmet yet and my car isn't ready for AutoX or track so I can't run but I'm all for watching and assisting.

Do you have brakes and 4 wheels?.. if so, it's ready

I'm actually not from Birmingham, I am from Gadsden. I moved to Knoxville and then down here to Birmingham.

zpower86 10-23-2015 01:12 PM

I'm going to karting tomorrow (10/24/2015) at Autobahn Indoor Speedway. It's a relatively new place. Should be fun. Going to meet at 10:30 am.

Autobahn Indoor Speedway Birmingham, AL

It was a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this track/facility. It's quite technical. Below is video from Saturday.

There's one opening in Huntsville this winter as well where the old Hobby Lobby used to be. Veloce Indoor Speedway
