Syria: Chemical weapons

What do you feel is going to come of this and what do you think is going to occur, even within the next few days?

They say the civil war in Syria began in early 2011, and al-Assad has since been adding more and more fuel to the fire. It is astonishing how quickly this "war" has grown in such short time, and now this, just sickening.

At the risk of beginning a political discussion, I'm not sure why the US should do a damn thing. Bad things are going to happen in the world, especially that part of the world. It's not our job to police everything.

Very true, and hard not to relate this to politics, but...

Agree, but within a discussion I was having last night, can the U.S. just be a bystander and watch as another smaller country crumbles?

Just seeing how stock prices are going to fall gas prices set to rise.. it seems no matter where something bad occurs it drastically effects us.

I agree with you 100%.. but gasing your own people, its wrong, its soo wrong, I think we need to bomb him and his military back to the stone age, then let them figure it out for themselves. Having an international coalition is key though.

Let the UN handle it. We'll help as a member, but this doesn't need to be just our problem. And our "help" should consist of cruise missles and drones. No boots on the ground in another desert. We've been playing that game for too long.

I couldnt agree with you more...

I am very torn on this. I really don't know WHERE those barrels came from. I would HOPE we are not giving weapons to our "enemy".

Chuck33079 08-28-2013 09:47 AM

I'm just tired of our need to play referee in every internal conflict in third world **** holes. And we wonder why half the world hates us. We've got enough issues locally. Maybe stop the cartel violence along our southern border before we go out looking for trouble thousands of miles away?

^This.

Chuck you nailed it, brother. Without telling a sob story, I handed out $5.5 million dollars cash in Iraq during reconstruction and humanitarian relief. Then I came home, and the nation was $12 Trillion in debt. I felt like (and still feel like) a traitor to my nation.

I hope we continue to focus on domestic issues, and technological advances here at home.

No boots on the ground is right! We are NOT a world police. I don't mind helping the international community but our guys don't always have to be getting shot at.

Trying to not make this a political talk...

You're right, I cant refute that.. ultimately, I think we all know, we are going to bomb the hell out of this country, and fricken gas prices ARE gonna go up, the whole deal just suucks!

I can assure you, the US will not have any boots (i.e. soldiers) on the ground.. although, thats not necissarily true, we do have intel sources in syria doing their thing inside of syria.
