This is really getting out of hand......

My brother showed me this last night and it PISSED me off. Does anybody else other than me find this offensive? People like these guys need to be shot. ESPECIALLY Jeezy. And Im ashamed to say I was a big fan of both of them. :shakes head: I mean who does Jay-Z think he is to say "white lies" on top of the stupid **** Jeezy said? If a white person said "no more black lies my president is white" people would be out for their heads. Cant believe our world is coming to this crap. Not saying things in a racial way because its riduculous that after all these years people still base judgements on something like that. /rant

Nah. Not bothered by it at all. I understand what he said. The way he rapped it, it sounded a little racist, but I don't think that it was meant to sound that way. The way it came out, he was just saying that the president won't lie because he's black, but I think he was saying that now that Bush is gone, there wont be any lies, AND "Yay! our president is black."

Most people over-analyze things like this. Take a step back from your anger and just think about it for a minute.

dad 01-23-2009 10:43 PM

They can say that, but we can't! Oh, and President Barack Obama, a lot of people have forgotten, or over look, he's part "white"!

Seriously... I watched that video and it didn't bother me at all.

What anger? You obviously are VERY misinformed about this type of stuff.

I think it was more of a show of frustration towards the exiting Bush administration. It DEFINITELY could have been taken as a racist comment, but I have never known Jay-Z to be a racist. Young Jeezy on the other hand, has been quoted in public making racist comments towards white people... well maybe not directly at white people, but he definitely pulled the race card.

As The Game said "F*ck Jessie Jackson, cause it ain't about race now..."

Word to The Game.....Jay-Z shocked me big time not Jeezy.

Your frustration about Bush comment reminded me of somethin funny. My uncle was at my house and I was sittin there with my mom, sister, uncle and brother in law talkin bout politics (uncle is the only democrat go figure  ). I made a comment about Obama and he FLIPPED out tryin to get loud with me telling me to show respect bla bla bla. I replied, "show respect? Ill show him respect to the same amount you showed Bush respect! None! So dont cry about me hating on someone you support when you did the same to me". Discussion ended there. :icon17:

Opinions on the closing of Gitmo?

Slidefox 01-23-2009 11:08 PM

I'm still trying to figure out where they are going to send all the inmates. Sure is a bold move just a few days into office!!

<-- Voted for Obama

blue660r01 01-23-2009 11:13 PM

Just FYI Bush did keep us safe for 7yrs after the attack. Closing this down may be a big problem...Lets hope he made the right choice. I for one do not want those prisoners coming onto our home soil. First off we dont have much room and may have to PAY to build more prisons. On top of that they are pushing trials back even more. For all we know those pos people could be set free.

Namir 01-23-2009 11:18 PM

I thought those were classless words (especially from JayZ) but when it comes down to it, I don't take rappers seriously anyway so it didn't quite bother me.

The concept of gitmo is atrocious and I applaud Obama for putting an end to it, however, I do recognize the problems that arise as a result of trying to close it. Mainly, what to do with all the prisoners.
