Default Help Me Find a Bag for My Daily Gear!

Do you have any recommendations for a bag that can hold my Canon 7D DSLR with battery grip and also fit an iPad and other sundries I would carry throughout the day (wallet, phone, passport, batteries, chargers, etc...)?
I'm racking my brains trying to find something, messenger bag/man purse-ish for my daily gear needs. Ideally, I don't want my bag to scream camera bag, right?
I've torn through B&H's website over and over, but a lot of the reviews and specs/dimensions seem to be conflicting. One guy is saying he's getting a 5D with grip and a MacBook into a bag that's only 4" deep. Huh?
I'm trying not to spend $400 on a bag, so I've been looking at Domke and Crumpler bags. LowePro is out because they all look like camera bags or camping gear.

I'd rather not have to take my lens off to make it fit in the bag. I want something that's suitable for a walkabout.

Suggestions?

Think Tank makes some messenger style bags: Shoulder

I checked them out in person and they are pretty nice. Not sure about the iPad slot, though.

Check out Rickshaw Bagworks | Shop urban messenger bags, iPad sleeves, laptop sleeves, backpacks or customize your own bag all made in the Dogpatch, San Francisco Made in the USA, quality piece. I bought one ~2 years ago, still going strong. I like that it doesn't scream camera bag. I use it for being out and about and take only what I need as far as camera gear goes... If I absolutely need to take everything, then i bring my true (read- big/heavy/bulky) camera bags....

LunaZ, how many lenses and stuffs do you have to put in the bag?

If you are not carrying heavy/lots of gears, the Lowpro Sling bag is very good.

I can put 2 regular zoom lenses, 1 80-200/f2.8, speedlight, and a body, plus filters(option filter holder attach on the Sling), memory, in one bag.

And when I have to change lenses, I don't need to put the bag down and getting clumsy.

I have an ol'bag you can use. I divorced her years ago but I can pass on her therapist's phone number. You might be able to still use her. I hear that she was use to that.
