Clint's helpful Photoshop Hints...

I was having trouble with that. T that area up front was getting bad to. I try and later everything. I'll mask the layer and then use the gradient however I need it to get a decent effect but I really was having trouble with the front of the car.

My experience has been that you can do exactly the same things in Portrait professional that you can in Photoshop but the entire process is much much easier and faster..

If you have the basic understanding of retouching that something "quick", never is "good". I'm not going to argue I do all my retouching manually. All the retouchers would laugh. It removes pore and detail structure from face yielding fake plastic skin. Detail is crucial.

Ok! no need to argue why dont you show us a model and take us through the steps of enhancement that you would do and show me the difference..

For someone starting out, I think Adobe Lightroom is fantastic and pretty easy to use. It may not have the depth of Photoshop, but it will yield great results...even fantastic results once you know your way around. You can easily touch-up, like skin smoothing, without losing detail. PS is still king for heavy lifting, but for most people, editing in lightroom is enough.

I will not release my retouching to the public. It is done manually with a neutral soft layer dual curves and a frequency separation technique. You could essentially get the same effect that with horrible pore less skin with surface blur and manually painting that on.
