That's a cool shot -- actually, I like them both. I also dig the retro hair dryer itself.

I went back to the Workhouse Arts Center today (formerly the Lorton Prison) to take some shots with the 5.0.
I actually like this one because the car is glowing a bit. And without the glow I am having a lot of fun with my 60D. Big thanks to HKYStormFront for recommending it to me at ZDayZ. Hopefully I can get some friends to let me take shots of their cars so I can keep things fresh and interesting with different subject matter.

Also, decided from here on out not to leave my tripod at home when I go shoot. I could have used it today to help frame shots and keep them constant as I play with exposures. Also I don't have a very steady hand... must be from all the crack red bull I used to smoke drink.

Here are some from when I went back at sunset and the light wasn't quite as harsh.

Thanks dude.
Yeah, I really need to fix that. It wasn't bothering me until yesterday!

I took some long exposure shots this weekend and noticed a lot of dust. It looks like its on the sensor and not the lens. Anyone here ever clean the sensor themselves? Should I try doing it myself or just bring it in to a camera shop?
....oh and nice work Steve.

I've never cleaned a sensor myself. I'm skerred.
Camera shop? Do they still exist? They all seem to have gone online or killed by the big box stores. Closest "physical" camera shop to me is B&H in NYC!

I would take it to a Camera shop myself. I don't want to risk screwing anything up.
We used to have a lot of Penn Camera shops around here including one right by my house. They were always very helpful and the pricing was decent. Higher than online but you did get great service. Unfortunately they went bankrupt, were bought out by another store, and closed a lot of locations. Now the closest one to me is in Tysons Corner, so it's a little drive from Fairfax. :|

Cameta Camera in Amityville is near me, but I'm not sure if they clean sensors. Manhattan isn't that far either, but I'd rather not go there unless I have to. I'm wondering if I can drop it off at Nikon's Melville HQ.

Look at Tamron lenses...they are all made in Japan using the same suppliers, could save yourself some bucks, if it's only for play you don't really need pro grade..,just a suggestion. I have a couple of tamron that I use, a lot. The Canon zooms are pricey, my husband buys them for me for christmas occasionally. Lucky me!
