Final question... should I get the 18-200 kit lens or just body? I don't really have any pricey lenses... just basic stuffs.

I shoot everything I see. 18-200 seems like it'd give me some options when I'm out walking around.

That is not a bad choice. The 18 - 135 for a starter lens is decent also.

Amazon doesn't have the 18-200 in stock. 18-135 it is. I have a 75-300 already.

The current 7D can wirelessly control multiple Canon speedlites as slaves, individually or as groups.
Just more pot stirring, LOL. I have the 430 and I borrowed a friend's. It works quite well for an inexpensive, portable, multiple flash setup.

Neither. Get your exposure right the first time.

I think my light meter lies. I find myself pushing it 1/3-2/3 of a stop either way once I get it in Lr.

I have LR & Aperture, both excellent, but I like the Lightroom workflow better so I switched over. For heavy lifting, neither can replace PS. Both have a 30 day trial, so I would download both and see which one you like better.
You drive a sports car when you could easily drive a POS that can get you from A to B. Same thing with camera equipment
