Mr. Kenchan. I am not as articulate a critic as I can be in other areas. When it comes to judging photogrpaphs, I go with my initial gut feel which falls into one of four categories -- boring but OK, bad, well done but it doesn't speak to me or I really like it. This shot I really like.

It is nicely exposed, is interesting, has clear focus throughout and the lighting is good. You are getting better with each post. I am not just kissing your butt, either.

Thanks for sharing and for asking my opinion. Keep them coming.

My sons are going to the UTI car show Sunday -- it will probably be populated heavily with ricers, but I hear there will be some decent cars there too. Among the decent cars will be Taylor's scary-fast 280zx (one of my old ones) that he built and it is going for some dyno pulls. Although I have a rule (a guideline, actually) that my kids (men) don't get to schedule my time on the weekends, I am going to go and try to get some good shots.

ahh, thank you mr.onzedge. i can take quite a beating so no worries if you really feel something is not right, i like to know about it and apply the fix on my future shots.

that picture is actually using 3 incandescent and 2 flouresent (super white) bulbs to get different hue/energy from the blue rug.

i also tried all incandescent lamps with the same shot but it came out real bland and flat as if it almost looked like a sephia (sefia?) oldy golden looking picture but exposure too high, no dept no color variation.

i also tried shining a flash light at objects while the camera was taking the long 25sec or so shot. it's a pretty cool effect. im going to try LED flashlights in the future. im done with the alfa for now.

looking forward to your shots from the carshow. hope they have antiques.
