Well guys, after lots of reading/comparisons, I have decided to pick me up a Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II Lens for 60D. I compared it two both the:
Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM and Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC Seems to me that the Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II is shaper through all f-stops and zoom ranges even without the VC Anti-Shake. So now to search for the Best Deal. Tamron -17-50mm F/2.8(Model A16) |

That's got a $50 rebate if you buy before June 30th. http://www.adorama.com/pdfs/rebates/51630.pdf Most places I found have it for $649-$50=$599. The "reputable" places anyway. edit: Buy.com has it for $507. http://www.buy.com/prod/tamron-b005-...211907048.html |

Caught the Venus transit in between clouds yesterday afternoon, was really worried I was gonna get hosed by western Washington weather again after missing the solar eclipse a few weeks ago (4" Celestron NexStar Maksutov-Cassegrain scope, 1325mm focal length, Nikon D5000 camera body and a class A solar filter, prime focus shot, 1/1000 sec, ISO 2000):
