The reason I suggested turning down the ISO is because when I looked at the sky, it looks really grainy and noisy like a high ISO shot. Or is that something else I'm seeing?

I went back to the Workhouse Arts Center today (formerly the Lorton Prison) to take some shots with the 5.0.

I actually like this one because the car is glowing a bit.

And without the glow

I am having a lot of fun with my 60D. Big thanks to HKYStormFront for recommending it to me at ZDayZ.

Hopefully I can get some friends to let me take shots of their cars so I can keep things fresh and interesting with different subject matter.

Speaking of long exposure shots, I ordered a neutral density filter so I can lengthen exposures in daylight. I want to take some shots at Great Falls and would like to try with that.

I am thinking about also grabbing a monopod for when I don't want to run around with a tripod but want some stability. I don't have a very stable hand. Too much crack, masturbation, red bull... I don't know.

The neutral denisty filter is very useful. I use mine when I want to mess around with depth of field in bright light. I have a Manfrotto monopod with a ball head that I use when I am shooting with one of my big lenses -- it helps a great deal for stability. I do not have the stamina I once had, largely due to the same reasons you stated.

...what is this neutral density filter you speak of? My only technique for lengthening exposure during the day is to up the f-stop, lessening my control over depth.

Also, decided from here on out not to leave my tripod at home when I go shoot. I could have used it today to help frame shots and keep them constant as I play with exposures. Also I don't have a very steady hand... must be from all the crack red bull I used to smoke drink.
