A friend of mine is leaving our booming metropolis of Harrisburg, PA and moving to NYC. Her girlfriend already has a job there, but she's hoping do get some work modeling to supplement her waitressing. (or is that the other way around? LOL!)
She's always been a willing participant in my hair and photography adventures, so I decided I would make her a comp card as a going away present. It may not be the standard set of images, but she's so versatile with her looks that it was hard to narrow it down to a head shot and 2-3 other poses.

I had an Ah-Hah! moment last weekend...
As I was taking a road trip to Western Pennsylvania via some very scenic back roads, I saw all sorts of amazing vistas and an ever-changing sky.
I pulled over to take a picture, but was disappointed. The detail, contrast and colours I saw while driving did not translate through my camera.
I put my camera back in its bag, slid my polarized sunglasses back on my face and put up my lightly tinted window and suddenly, that picture I wanted to capture was back.
At that moment, it became clear to me what all this talk of filters is about.

It's always nice when that "ah-hah" moment comes up and you realize you actually do know what people are talking about! Filters are quite an accessory to a photog.
