Is there anything else needed to install these into a sport addition z? I recall reading about shims or something like that

There is a good chance that the gears will not fit perfectly in the diff and the shims are required to handle the difference. They are apparently sold in varying thicknesses to ensure that the fitment is perfect.

IMO, this is one of the things that I would not try to DIY. I would let someone who knows how to build a diff handle the installation.

I agree, not a DIY project. Would just wanna make sure I had all parts necessary when bringing the car to the shop.

First foremost it's not your average diy project unless you have some experience in installing gears. There's specialty tools that's needed for gears install so I would recommend local Nissan dealership or a reputable shop.

And yes you will need shims to correctly install them. I can't tell you which shims you exactly need because the backlash needs to be measured. You can buy a variety of shims sizes and return what wasn't used at a Nissan dealership. You may want to replace pinion seal as well.

I have all the major parts so all is needed are pretty what I mentioned.
