Do the post MAF tubes actually give a gain in performance, or are they purely cosmetic?

Paired with K&N drop-ins, it gained someone 8.9 HP & 6.67 FT/LBS Torque. There is a Dyno sheet around here some where, it might take some searching

It took a long time to find, but in my search for a cold air intake, I looked at my stock set up, and realized that, from the factory, Nissan is already attempting to pull in Cooler air.
So for say, 200 give or take, I can get a little more free air with drop ins and smoother air with the tubes into the throttle body. Based on a dyno comparison there is in fact a small gain. The exhaust is where I will see the most gain, but for me, it's half the price of a CAI and also for me, a nice temporary solution as the long term plan is forced induction. Basically, considering the car is so new, I'd like a little more power now between intake and exhaust and wait a little longer to void my factory warranty that I paid for by putting a supercharger on it now. |
