Do not buy from fairz

I got a Stillen bumper from him, got it painted too.

Sat in my climate controlled garage for months, just installed it last weekend and the paint it chipping off and cracking

My fault for not installing it earlier. And he has told me that he changed shops, but throwing it out there.

UPDATE:

These aren't the cracks I was talking about, but I noticed them yesterday in a completely different area. I guarantee a pressure washer would take the paint off...

Faint:

But on this side even Ray Charles can see the cracks and the bubbling:

DEpointfive0 06-04-2014 03:43 PM

Yes, my bad for waiting to install it, and he told me he has since switched shops. But that doesn't do anything for me now

KeVoH 06-04-2014 03:45 PM

He was viewing the thread a second ago. hmm:stirthepot:

Good. Sorry, I don't run my parts business shady...

Lowbz21 06-04-2014 03:47 PM

I had an unpleasant experience with him as well!

You bought a bumper from me almost 6 months ago.... inspected it in person, picked it up... and now your asking me for a refund.... I would understand if you had it for some weeks and then asked me for a refund, but going back that far... There is too much that could have happened. Unfortunately, I can't give you a refund given the time you've had it.

DEpointfive0 06-04-2014 03:49 PM

And I quote
"Im.not saying everything he has painted was bad, but I didn't see the flaws until after yours was painted. I don't know what to tell you man"

I didn't see anything when first picking up the bumper because he Saran Wrapped it.

zeus37 06-04-2014 03:49 PM

So is the only problem the crappy paint job? Other than that he delivered it on time and there were no other issues?

Take it out of your current sales.
Refund me the money I paid to paint it. The bumper is still a bumper

JARblue 06-04-2014 03:50 PM

Apparently, DE isn't the only one who had issues with this seller:

? The paint job was a part of the deal

Hopefulki 06-04-2014 03:51 PM

I bought 2 headlights from him, one was in perfect condition, one was missing 2 tabs, so it only has 2 bolt in points. I didn't mention it since I didn't want to make a big deal, but I figure I would add to it.

Lowbz21 06-04-2014 03:54 PM

Buyer beware! Member fairz

When I bought my nismo bumper from him I sent him an extra 300 for the diffusor piece that goes underneath and ended up finding one myself. Tried to get the money back and he ultimately was trying to screw me out of that 300 bucks then had to take a loss and he sent me 150.

Edit: not to mention the paint was terrible and I had to take it to a body shop to repaint the grilles correctly and wet sand the whole thing.

black_sedan 06-04-2014 04:28 PM

Damn.... Soory to hear. Do any of you guys have pics of your damaged items?

BosLax6123 06-04-2014 04:34 PM

I just purchased some rear splash guards and didnt have any issues whatsoever. Quick and easy transaction. Condition of the guards was fine given their used condition as well.

cooltoy 06-04-2014 04:43 PM

I think he runs a parts business. Gets them from someone else and then sells them here.

I have not bought anything for him, so can not comment.

He always gets back to me when contacted and is pretty patient. Will rarely budge on price (that is neither bad or good - just a comment).

Did you ask about the condition of the lights?

Hopefulki 06-04-2014 04:59 PM

I did, and I was told they were used but in good condition. I did not specifically ask about the tabs, but I should have - my fault there. However, I was concerned about even keeping them in because of only 2 bolt points. They definitely pivot if you touch them.

While I wasn't specific about the bolt on locations, I assumed good condition meant only normal wear and tear, not 3 separate, broken bolt points.

Regardless, I probably wont file a claim because the light works, I just wanted to throw it out there for others.

cooltoy 06-04-2014 05:10 PM

Live and learn. Kind of sucks, I would have felt a little burnt too.

FairladyZ10PG 06-04-2014 06:26 PM

Good info DE! Sorry about your situation though. This is why I stay away from used parts unless it's local.

Jasonle 06-04-2014 06:43 PM

Is this the same person selling a nismo spoiler for $800?

Edit: nvm he must of sold it. http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...ismo-wing.html

COSMO 06-04-2014 07:01 PM

Wow I was actually going to purchase a nismo front bumper from him but now I'm glad I didn't... I know he's has a few other things for sale as well on the forum. Thanks for the heads up!!

I would... That's a little BS if the light moves when touching it.

I have a pic of the paint coming off, the cracks are hard to capture with a cell phone though

He does. More than me. He buys them from CL or the forum and touches them up with his shít body shop and resells them. And/or offers this great service to have items painted then shipped... Which we all fall for

As long as further sales are prevented I think fellow forum members will be protected.

We can, and DO. Just can't warn people off the forum.

Just as an FYI, for those who chronically eBay parts. Fairz is in NorCal. I forgot the city to be honest

OldFart 06-04-2014 09:12 PM

I purchased the Nismo emblem he had in another thread, got the USPS tracking info for it today. He seemed on the level and answered any question I had promptly, sorry to hear about your experiance though DE...

GaleForce 06-04-2014 09:12 PM

I had a good experience with him :ugh2:

eastwest2300 06-04-2014 09:34 PM

He told me Sacramento. He emailed me through craigslist for a listing I had for my sport wheels and asked me to ship.

Nothing gave me a red flag, but this is good to know.

TonyZ34 06-04-2014 10:27 PM

Andrew not the only one. I bought an Amuse front from him and asked if it had any cracks, chips, scratches, etc. and he said " just need to be repainted " Total BS. When i got it, the carbon fiber was cracked, bumper was cracked, paint was chipped, and the front bumper was bondo! Shipping was terrible because he just wrapped it in some damn cardboard and he told me that he was "an experience shipper" So that was also a lie. Even after I got it and told him about it, he DIDNT DO SH!T. He even lied about the shipping cost and was like, " yeah it took the whole day " I expected so much better from another member but was wrong. Wasted more money fixing it then buying one BRAND NEW. He even lied about the fitment. :shakes head: All I have to say. I hate starting things like this but since Andrew actually spoke up, so would I.

You must be selling them for cheap enough to buy and sell, lol

mag_black 06-04-2014 10:52 PM

^^ he asked me to if I would ship them for the price I have listed, lol.

edit:
and yes, they're decently priced.

That's not cool.

1slow370 06-04-2014 11:27 PM

I installed Andrews bumper two weeks ago at that time it had no damage, most likely it was a combo of a lack of prep work and cheap paint with no adhesion promoter or flex additives in it which lead to insta-crack and flaking the first time it was asked to flex. Sucks because its going to cost more to repaint now because any decent paint shop will know they have to get ALL that crap paint off in order to get to a good base again. On the bright side from the sounds of it they could use a pressure washer to just spray it off haha.

Got_Z 06-04-2014 11:50 PM

Just bought emblems from him. Ill let you guys know how they turn out.

TonyZ34 06-04-2014 11:57 PM

Emblems, splash guards, etc. are easy things to ship/buy. It seems to only be big body parts that never seems to go right. I`m pretty sure it doesn't even belong to him.

axmea? 06-05-2014 12:15 AM

Another unscrupulous seller exposed. He has a chance to redeem himself by comping you to get it properly painted but I highly doubt he'd do it.
