The threads are all still open, just post in them and they will bump to the top.

Just add a reply to the thread. For example just type "bump" and it will come back to the top of the topics list

I guess we assumed that almost everybody has used forums before and that it was common knowledge that adding a reply to a thread bumps it to the top of the topics list.
