Give yourself the best N/A flowing exhaust for Christmas !!!
This took me 60 hours of fabrication and an unknown amount of time for research on spec and sizing made for the VHR engine ! I'm planning to go the FI route in the future now so I have no needs of this exhaust ... Only 3000$ the headers back is only 39.6lbs !! and flow as much as a double 2.5'' exhaust and quite more than just a single exhaust 3'' which isn't that great for the full bolt-on VHR flowing capability. - Modified Momentum headers (not the z1 copy) which sell for 895$ for the Z1's copy - Custom Y-Pipe 2.5'' paired with a transition & megaphone to 3.5'' single exit. - Custom 3.5'' mid pipe with a 18'' resonator. - Custom Muffler section 3.5'' in & out. - 2x HFC (y-pipe) - 2x Resonator (y-pipe) - Custom rear holding bracket (with bolts) - All mandrel bent 304SS tubing. - TIG Welded and Back-Purged for improved stronger welds. - Equipped with 8 modified V-bands kits to reduce turbulence. *This alone is 750$ in parts ! no including the machining time to tweak them* - No gasket required. - Much improved scavenging effect due to the both transition and megaphone *Header & Y-Pipe* which mean more power ! - With the benefit of V-Band the swap of those parts can be done in 10 mins ! (either 2x resonator or 2x HFC) Last edited by Megan370z; 12-12-2013 at 09:03 PM. |

This is very nice and could show great gains! My only dislike is the single exhaust exit point. Other than that the sound is beautiful and you can really tell you put the time and research into this. GLWS!

I was going to have my buddy make me an 3.5 inch exhuast, for the muffler and two resonators cost was about 700. Pipe was about 200 and he was going to charge me 300 to fabricate. Headers and HFC cost about 800. Am i missing something?

so you are saying its 700$ for the parts you mentioned then 200$ for the pipes. then 300$ to fabricate then 800$ for the header and HFC of your setup 700 + 200 + 300 + 800 = 2000$ total that's good but do you have the nice feature that my setup has ? 2 x resonator or 2 HFC if you want to stay legal on the road but want the advantage on the track with less restriction in 10mins ? no need of any gasket but the header to engine head which you can re-use unless you bent it yourself. you didn't mentioned but how will you have the Y-Pipe made ? 200$ of piping will do the whole setup ? I doubt it. have you got the exhaust made yet ... probably not. then will your Y-pipe be efficient ? if you think you are only getting 200$ of piping. will it be capable to outflow the setup I made ? hell no.. let me tell you on this. there isn't any misalignment in the exhaust like it can be with normal 2 bolt flange. There is also a difference in price when using cheap tubing and bent .... my kit does NOT have any crush bent .. ONLY mandrel bent tubing. so with V-Band and the way I machined them.. you keep the whole ID of the whole exhaust the same . no turbulence and even less because I machined them to remove the usual inside lips. Im sure im missing some argument now but im gonna stop. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I bet 100$ that you didn't actualy read the whole sale thread. I mentioned (Edit; I thought I mentioned) the price on mostly everything. lets do it again I guess. - Modified Momentum headers (not the z1 copy) the copy goes for 895$ - 2x Vibrant resonator 2.5'' 4'' x 12'' goes for = 59.95$ each time 2 = 119.90$ - 2x Vibrant catalyzer 2.5'' 4'' x 10'' = 129.95$ each time 2 = 259.90$ - 1x Vibrant Resonator 3.5'' x 18'' = 102.95$ - 8x Modified V-Band flange Stainless Steel = this alone is 750$ in parts (2.5'' & 3.5'' - 2x transition (Burns stainless website) for the header = 39$ each time 2 = 78$ - 1x Megaphone (Burns stainless website) 1.5" to 3.5" 304 Stainless = 58.43$ - 1xVibrant Muffler 3.5'' Muffler = 149.95$ - 1x 5' long 2.5'' 304 Stainless steel tubbing = 95.95$ - 1x 5' long 3.5'' 304 Stainless Steel tubbing = 135.95$ - 2x U-Bent *Mandrel bent* 2.5'' 304 SS = 52.95$ each time 2= 105.90$ - 2x U-Bent *Mandrel bent* 3.5'' 304 SS = 99.95$ each time 2 = 199.95$ - 3x Sensor bung (3 installed) = 2$ each time 3 = 6$ add everything 895.00$ 119.90$ 259.90$ 102.95$ 750$.00$ 78.00$$ 58.43$ 149.95$ 95.95$ 135.95$ 105.90$ 199.95$ 6$ total = 2957.88$ Don't forget TAX !!! here its 13% Also don't forget shipping. So I used a bit more than 1x 3.5'' U-Bent I used a bit more than 1x 2.5'' U bent I used 90% of my straight 2.5'' tube I used 50% of my straight 3.5'' tube I machined the V-Band flange on the lathe for a better flow transition. 150$ not included but on my time. I didn't included the price to make the custom rear bracket to hold the rear sub-frame brace. I didn't included the attachment for the muffler (Used and modified the OEM one of the EM exhaust) Estimate of 60 hours of cutting/machining/research/ TIG welding/ Not including the welding cost of the machine and argon gas + filler I didn't mentioned previously on this post but there is a 100' for DEI exhaust wrap installed ... (80$ at summit racing) Why did it cost way more than your 2000$ ?? first off ,, include the HEADERS which already take more than 1/3 $ of your total price which you probably missed something. If any other concern on the kit . either read back from the beginning why this complete exhaust was made for. If you still need some answer I will be hhappy to answer them EDIT; so If im selling this whole exhaust setup for 3000$ shipped (its about 250$ anywhere in the US no insured) ... I did mentioned the complete exhaust setup was estimated at over 5000$ if you account for everything 2750$ +shipping cost = 3000$ is the actual best N/A power Deal you will ever have ... or 4500$ for the whole intake/exhaust kit. 64$/HP (Im positive the kit can easily do 75whp over stock which would be priced at 60$/HP ) Since my previous exhaust was actually made to be within a certain Decibel zone. but still free flow and prototype muffler that wasn't that great and did 68whp over stock . this new exhaust setup is quite a step higher quality and proper research was made. Update;
I just discovered a possible peace of mind on a few of you guys. This picture is from the G37 You will need to remove the rear bracing tower shown in the bottom Red square Edit ; The G37, 350z, G35 has the same setup. Only the 370z has the V-Brace which isn't absolutely needed . The G37 share the exact same setup as the 370z but does not include the V-brace and that big Tower for the brace found on the 370z. then install the provided *blue* rear holding bracket the 2 holding bolts goes into the already installed welded nut into the frame. and you will lose the 2 braces going to the front bolts of the sub-frame. IMO they arent crucial to the rear stability since the 350z, G35 & G37 does not have it and have the same sub-frame setup. |
