Custom Spare-Tire subwoofer box, 10" sub, amp, line converter, & component speakers
 

I've been sitting on my stereo parts for half a year now thinking I was going to utilize the equipment in my Golf R. However, I've gone this long and I have no idea when or even if I'll ever use the parts; the stock stereo in my R sounds pretty good (10x better than the Bose system). If anyone is interested in the following let me know.

*I sent 2 channels to the fronts and bridged the rear 2 channels to power the sub.
Pioneer TS-D1720C 6 3/4" component speakers
*Includes my custom brackets for the Touring model. Ask some of the other members; I believe I was the first to make these for the Touring!?!
*Also includes home-made tweeter brackets; they may be cheezy but they work.
*All speakers are drop-in ready; no modding.
AudioControl LC6 6-channel line output converter
*Used to clean up the Bose 2-ohm signal and get a flat signal to output to the amp.

This is a complete package that complements the stock Bose stereo. You get much better lows in the doors, better highs from the tweeters, still get the fill-in behind the seats with the stock rear speakers coming off the Bose amp, and then much better (and cleaner) boom from the sub throughout the car.

will it fit the same into a non bose model?

To which part are you referring to? Everything would work. I would point out that the AudioControl really wouldn't be necessary for you; you could still utilize it for cleaning up the signal but you wouldn't require it. It was a requirement with the Bose system due to the 2 ohms of the Bose stereo. You also wouldn't utilize my speaker spacers. You would need the round ones from Zenclosures.com. The sub & box would fit no different than the Touring model; the spare tire is the same size.

Bumping this up. I still have all these parts laying around and need to sell them. They are available as separate pieces if you are wanting any, and I'm taking any offers.

The 6 3/4" components w/crossover, I need to locate those speakers.

Would that sub enclosure fit my Base model spare tire. I'm looking for a Sport spare since I upgraded to the Akebonos, but for now I have the base spare.

My 2009 Touring model had a temporary tire/wheel, and I had the sub enclosure sitting inside the wheel. If you have the same wheel or a full size wheel, then it would sit inside of the wheel.
