The best you could have done is pm the seller if you have issues and negotiate for a better price if you do want to buy it. OP is a good man and would not overcharge anyone specially a forum member.

It was a legitimate question, was it not? If there was a different/super upgraded version that Valentine sells, great! I didn't know - I'll buy it NOW!... but as far as I could tell (even after going to the actual valentine1.com website, I saw (and still see today ) $399.
