i have a 7AT and was looking for a secind diff set-up to use when i go to the drag strip with different gears. most diff sets i can find online are all 6MT and supposedly they are different than the 7AT. also most for sale on non-sport (no VLSD). im not a expert on these hence my asking.

Just to confirm, the AT VLSD is different size then the 6MT VLSD. The The 7AT ring gear is larger then a 6MT ring gear so you CAN use the 6MT VLSD in an 7AT case BUT you must use 6MT gears.

Such as in order for a 7AT to do the 4.08 or even just to a 3.69 Gear swap, they MUST buy a VLSD or an aftermarket LSD for 6MT! The 7AT VLSD or LSD's will only work with the 7AT factory 3.3 gears.

Shoot. Chrishorn beat me to it ! I can confirm what he said all 7at gear swap need a 6mt donor . Just had this done . It's a very good modification , especially if you track your car.
