Aftermarket Radiator Overflow Tank

Looking forward to hearing back... I was planning on getting one of these and having someone fabricate it to make it a coolant/ oil catch can combo.

Anyone know what is actually inside of an oil catch can?

(I play devil's advocate because I'm a realist, so please no one get butt hurt... And I have dealt with/know a lot of people to directly deal with metal/machining/welding and such.)

Offering a combo increases price to the point where economically it's stupid, but I guess there's less crap under your hood
A Mishimoto PS reservoir is cheaper than adding one to this...
Also, with regards to PS, you don't want to DECREASE the amount of fluid, you want to increase the hell out of it on our cars... It overheats quickly and god knows the fluid is REALLY turbulent

I'll check with my supplier and CNC guy, maybe it'll be cheaper... Or maybe easier to go with billet, machine it out, then weld a bottom piece on...


ANOTHER HUGE cost will be the lid, sounds dumb, but unless it's premade and it's just welded on, the cost will go up... And premade ones would likely be steel, not aluminum...

DE, I am referring to a combo buy of 2 individual pieces. Basically replace the PS & coolant tank with some nice fancy shiny stuff not 1 piece replacing 2 pieces. This way he can sell combos and build more, economics of scale, and possibly make more money.

Ok, fair enough, in any case oil catch cans can be bought for CHEAP on eBay then add steel wool to make them work, and there already is a PS cooler on the market, so not sure how much there is to be made in that respect

Lol. Honestly, the coolant overflow tank is LITERALLY JUST a bottle, at least the PS cooler holds fluid that gets recirculated, lol

Yeah, both look fairly solid.
I would invest in a coolant tank that looked more OEM honestly, but the PS from Mishimoto could be a solid replacement.

Wow this thread had really heated up in the past two hours. I'd personally opt out of the clear hose on this side. At least if you make a coolant/ oil catch combo.
