Drop Engineering Transmission Mount
Installed for all of 3 hours. I immediately knew it wasn't for me, and uninstalled it. it's in practically brand new shape.
Here's the deal: This thing is amazing for people that track their car a lot. It's great for a dedicated race car. It's great for anyone wanting a very raw feel to the car, and its effect on decreasing driveline slop is super noticeable. If you're like me, and actually prefer things relatively quiet, and primarily daily drive your car, it's NOT for you, and I recommend you do not buy it. $160 shipped (48 states). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/j8...PoUMRQ88oM-SGc |

Anyone else have this installed? Sound clip or video of any complaints?
|
Some members do... if you're really performance oriented, you'll most likely enjoy it. If you're a bit more moderate, it'll be too much. Supposedly it softens up after a few hundred miles too, but I didn't wait.
Just trying to be honest with any potential buyers :) |
Would you mind describing the effect? Sound/vibration.
|
There was a lot of vibration added through the cabin, and that's of course the goal of something like this: more feeling for the drivetrain, and to clean up the drivetrain "slop". Supposedly this vibration decreases after a few hundred miles. The noise was only that of the drivetrain, in my G37 it was very low-frequency, like a "growl".
It made my car seem like a BEAST! Part of me liked it, but the larger part of me thought it would be too much for me on a daily basis (I got the G37 because it was a bit more isolated and more luxury / GT than a Z, so this was going the wrong direction for me). |
Anyone?
I'm motivated to sell, so make me an offer! I have coilovers to buy! |
