Kinetix Intake Manifold - VQ37

Price: Lower Price! - $800 - *Update - Will consider trades or trades + cash - Would have to fit a G37 coupe - maybe engine covers, electronics etc..*
Location: WA

I am selling my Kinetix Velocity Intake manifold for the VQ37HR. I purchased it from GTM while they were installing their TT kit on my 2008 coupe in 2010. Is was one of just two or three pre-production models available, and Kinetix still has not gone into production with them. After installation and some dyno tuning, it was apparent that it did not increase power over the stock intake manifold. I have a "function-over-form" mindset to my car and therefore decided to have them take it off and go back to stock. It has been sitting on my workbench since and I have finally decided to sell it.

Although it did not increase performance, this is a unique and rare engine dress up piece that you can't get anywhere else. It also has a nice metallic growl under acceleration.

Price includes shipping within the continental U.S. Here are some pics and a link to the thread I started about my TT install. Please contact me with any questions.

New G37 TT - MyG37

Thanks for Looking!

Jeez that's gorgeous

MattP725 03-04-2012 08:23 PM

I think another benefit that isn't mentioned is this would probably make a direct port nitrous kit easier to route.

The runners are much more apparent on this manifold than the stock one.

sixpax 03-05-2012 05:23 AM

damn that looks cool .... GLWS

DEpointfive0 03-05-2012 06:01 AM

I must say, it looks amazing, but for NO gain in HP... A 350 intake can be retrofitted to make HP gains...

GLWS!!! Free bump

happytheman 03-05-2012 06:34 AM

So one should planning on swapping the front strut tower brace as well for this, correct? Thanks for the pic! Looks sick!

Major eye candy

It should fit with the stock strut bar no problem.

So it didn't make any gains at all? Or just not any top end gains? The motordyne manifold doesn't seem to make any top end gains but does produce plenty of usable mid-range power. Just curious. That is a gorgeous manifold though.

Pretty sure there were no gains at all unfortunatley. I think this is a uniqe engine dress up piece, not a performance mod..

Humm....

FPenvy 03-05-2012 01:20 PM

you drop that price some and i'll buy it. it looks sexy just not worth anywhere near $1100 without any HP gains to me.

Send me a PM with an offer!

edub370 03-05-2012 04:19 PM

i'm a memeber of the "this looks so sexy idc if it doesn't net me a single extra hp" club on this one. however, $1100 is a big pill to swallow

Greedy 03-06-2012 09:41 AM

Bump....

TerribleONE 03-06-2012 09:43 AM

Wow this looks amazing.. But as others said above, that's a lot to throw down and not gain any power

Greedy 03-06-2012 06:03 PM

Updated - will consider trades or trades + cash for parts that fit a g37 coupe - engine cover?, electronics, brake parts etc...

simota1 03-06-2012 06:56 PM

1. The Kinetix Intake Plenum has proved to perform just like the old ones for the vq35's - like crap. The TQ curve peaked then fell off and was causing some other driveability issues - Put the stock plenum back on and all is good.

2. The Synchronic BOV's that I wanted to try out were causing problems with the MAF readings at idle - I had them put on the tried and true Tial's.

3. The car PC monitoring system that Sam wanted to try out ended up not working. His install guy left mid project, so he intstalled the Blitz system. I will run with it untill something better comes out.

The numbers were good with the above stuff on there (500hp, 450tq), but will be on the dyno today with the stock plenum and tials on and improve on those numbers.

I will be driving back through vegas then back up through Utah and Idaho this weekend and let you all know how it does.
Might be ok for NA applications. GLWS.

TerribleONE 04-04-2012 11:47 AM

So only NA on this one then huh...too bad. Looks amazing!

tkuntz 04-10-2012 12:07 AM

one awesome piece, but it's too bad that theres no HP gains out of something that appealing, sounds like some expensive wall art!... wonder if it would fit the 07-08 HR motors?

Greedy 05-01-2012 10:14 PM

New lower price again! Shoot me a good offer and it can ship this week!

FPenvy 05-02-2012 08:18 AM

i still want this every time i look at it lol if that price slips a little more i may be buying this :happydance:
