Where is the damage located? On the passenger side latch?

Correct, in that corner. It is not a lot of damage, he is just doesn't want anything damaged on his car. If this happened on any part opn his car, he'd order new and sell the damaged piece. The hood however has never been mounted. Just taken out the box and inspected. His new hood is on the way to him.
