Z1 2pc rotors are totally garbage for tracking, I wrapped two sets in 3 track days. Definitely under 100 mile per set. I agree the z1 rings does not have enough mass to absorb all the stopping energy from tracking condition. And also the wrapping could also contribute by its non-floating design.

People should avoid buying used 2pc rotors, especially the Z1 ones.

It's a specialized pharma type co. that doesn't really deal with the public so much https://rssynthesis.com/

I also think it's just him and maybe 1 other person.

I've been hammering dude with texts and, well, this isn't over yet...stay tuned.

All of that is undoubtedly true.

I was sold these rotors as "never used on the track", "practically new", "nothing wrong with them" but when I asked why he was running track pads on the street,
he said "everybody who uses them on the track, uses them on the street...idiot!"

So, he admitted that he had used these at the track. All I know is they were warped, not suffering from 'pad residue'.

I always ask people to clarify, is the xxx miles street or track miles.
I did, he said he never used them on the track and then subsequently, he basically admitted that he did use them on the track.

He found out that the Z1 rotors don't work on the track. Now he's trying to recoup some of his mistake.

Don’t forget he also sold a pair of Paragon 2 pc that’s warped beyond correction.

For someone that paid like $10k for a set of BBS center lock wheels, a $1.5m+ address, I just don’t understand the need to lie just to recoup a few hundred bucks.

Yeah, he said the Paragon's were perfectly fine too. Called me a 'show and shine desk jockey'. I offered to race him at Willow Springs anytime.

I told him if pays me the $350 for the rebuild kit, I won't make his life miserable.

Sorry - not to change the subject but since I know I’ll be needing brakes soon - and I only drive on the street - original brakes on the car with 56k on the odo - and they are still holding well (just passed inspection with them) - but….knowing I’ll need some sooner rather than later - should I avoid the Z1 2 piece since I only street drive them? And if so - recommendations that won’t break the bank or similarly priced?

Thanks in advance,

….and @Rumblefish - sorry man - THAT SUCKS and just confirms more and more that PEOPLE SUCK!

I have the 2 piece on my Z, street driven only, and I haven't had an issue with them. Keep in mind I'm not hard on the breaks though and even when I am doing spirited driving, I still don't have any issues. As mentioned before, the rotors aren't really intended for track use, despite how they are advertised. Street only, in my opinion, you should be fine.

Update: Got the $350 refund from this clown

Wanted me to send back the warped rings. Too bad I don't have them any longer...not that I'd have sent them anyway. I sent him the receipt for the rebuild kit.

So ends this saga.

Came here to learn about Z1 rotors, and got sucked into the internet drama!

On serious note, RacingBrake is a bit out of my price range, so will be going with Frozen Rotors for my Z. Its not 2 piece, however everyone say they last a long time.

Wish these Nismo 2 piece fit Akibono brakes
