The function of the light all depends on how you wire it. Very popular to wire to the brake lights and put a light repeater or flasher in line to have it flash rapidly several times before staying on solid with the other brake lights. They call this "F1" style as in Formula One racing. GREAT to wake up drivers behind you to keep from getting rear ended. Our Z's brake very well and also decelerate quickly downshifting a manual trans car. Sometimes drivers behind you (either on the track or the street) don't have enough time to react to stop in time !
