Tein Mono Sport

SOLD
Selling a set of Tein Mono Sport coilover
https://www.z1motorsports.com/coilov...37-p-3983.html

IMO these are probably one of the best coilovers for track performance you can get for under $2000. It performs better than my KW v3 on track and performs better on both street and track compare to the stock nismo coilover.

used for less than a year (5 track days, about 5000 miles)

reason for sell: they are not up to the performance level I want. Upgrade to a custom build Ohlins TTX

Pros/cons to these? What performance level were you looking for that these couldn't reach?

I believe the Tein’s are rebound adjustable only. His new setup will be at least compression and rebound independently adjustable, if not a 3 or 4 way (high/low speed compression/rebound) for even finer tuning.

Pros:
- Good quality and performance for the money.
- Strong linear track ready spring rate 14kg/mm front and 12kg/mm rear. (unlike KW v3 soft variable spring rate that oriented towards street use)
- Street compliance is better than OEM.

Cons:
- It's built for a relatively low price point.
- As above mentioned it's one way adjustable. (one knob to adjust compression and rebound at the same time)
- It has no chance to compete with a $7000+ or even $10000+ 3way or 4way setup, such as JRZ Moton

This a track car and running with 295 full slick square. Tein's spring rate and valving is not bad, but far beyond enough for competition use. Ideally a track car should have a natural frequency above 2.0HZ, which on our car converts to a spring rate and valving above 18kg/mm(1000 lb/inch) front (rear depends on where the spring is) . None of the pre-built coilovers on the market reaches such level.

Man, if I didn't just drop $1,100 for ECUtek + custom tune I'd pick these up. If you still have them in January, let me know.
