TiAL Q->J BOV Bottom half recirc (Quiet down Topgunz kit)

Hi,

Red, 50mm with 1.5" output.

Went with the TG A-A kit and the TiAL Q was super loud. I purchased a recirculating bottom half part at 2 different places because of COVID delays. Paid 75 with shipping. Yours for 65 shipped including paypal.

Can you explain how this quietens down the QRJ? Mine is really loud, and I’ve been trying to figure this out. Thanks

This is to turn the TiAL Q to a Tial QR. You can replace the lower part of the Q (non-recirculating) with this bottom half (making it recirculating). Changes the sound, toss a filter on it or add a 1.5" radiator hose and route it back to the engine to suppress the sound.

I'll record some video/audio with before and after and a couple different configs in the next day or 2 if that will help others with deciding.

Hi,

Here is some vid/sound of the changes I did. I did end up relocating the BOV to the drivers side a bit where I have more room and clears my Nismo bumper better. It is MUCH MUCH quieter for sure, especially when driving. WOT gear changes have tamed down as well, but still loud enough so game can hear ;-)

Adding the recirc (Tial QR) new location

Your BOV is installed backwards. I just found this out today. Started losing boost under WOT because the BOV would stay open. Called Tial and they said its on backwards. Drove on it backwards for months lol. The side with the piston should be our outlet for air. Inlet would be where your filter is.

I'm interested, explain....

the outlet of air is going out the recirc + filter... thats how the re-circ works

They even said the instructions tell you to install it the way I described. I switched it around and now it's holding boost no issues at all. Shoot them an email of ya don't believe me ;)

It can be installed the way you have it but it's recommend from them to install it the opposite way.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the qrj? The qrj needs to be installed horizontal. The q and qr can only be installed one way.

You must be talking about the qrj. The attached pic is how it needs to be installed.
