Z1 Motorsports Oxygen Sensor Extension Bungs for all ODB II equipped vehicles, including the 1996 300zx and all 350Z, G35, G37 and 370Z models. These Extension Bungs are strongly suggested when upgrading to Test Pipes or when the catalytic converters are removed in order to deter the Check Engine Light from coming on. While this isn’t a guaranteed fix it has been seen to work in most cases. The primary function of the Extension Bungs is to move the downstream oxygen sensors, after the catalytic converters, out of the direct exhaust stream. Moving the O2 sensors out often “tricks” the ecu into thinking a catalytic converter is still in place. However, this isn’t guaranteed to work but has proven to be successful in most cases. The Z1 Motorsports Extension Bungs will fit all standard oxygen sensors and exhaust bungs. To install the extension bungs, a 22mm wrench is needed. The same wrench that is needed to install the oxygen sensors themselves. Last edited by Jimbo370; 01-18-2020 at 05:21 PM. |
