Damn them Aragosta coilovers are so nice. The shipping rates on those are insane. I got quoted close to $4,000 a couple years back when I wanted the Type S. Good luck searching :tiphat:

Was looking at the type ss myself.
Price is better at kts

Spooler 12-13-2018 08:11 PM

Good luck, only 2 folks have them. Me and a guy with a G37. I think he sold his car.

ED's Dream 12-14-2018 07:25 AM

There is no ******* way you should be paying $4000. I got mine for around $3,000. Type-S, pillow-ball mounts, standard rates, shipped to California from Bullet Proof Automotive. Avoid them like the plague, they jack prices up unnecessarily

I am certain that RHD Japan can get them for you for $3,000 or better.

Some other member here got some for $2200 or so from KTS, simply by emailing them and asking.

Contact Tom Nguyen at Speed Image USA, he gets me all my JDM stuff and more:

Besides me, user IPLG37 had them. Here is his for sale thread:
http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...coilovers.html

Spooler has them as well, His thread:
http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...uspension.html

Lastly, user Ape Factory has them. I found his thread about sourcing his through KTS:

Wow, I ordered my Aragosta Type S directly from Japan through KTS and already have them and will be installing on Monday. I also paid about $1000 less than what Bulletproof had them listed at. Just PM me and I can send you contacts and info. I believe I ordered mine on April 7th.

AST can indeed rebuild these here in the states. All the parts are not 100% the same as what's offered on the AST website. Better or worse? I can't say as I don't have the knowledge to make that determination.

My setup:

As Ape Factory notes, AST can service these stateside, because i believe at least some of the parts used by Aragosta are sourced from AST

Awesome, thank you for the info, I’ll look into it

Serious question here, do they really perform that much better than kw v3s?

I have never had V3's but I can tell you the Aragosta's preform very well. The dampers/shocks are good. The only way to beat them would be to install some Moton, JRZ, or Penske high dollar setups.

Interesting, I wish I could ride in a Z with them. My KW’s are amazing, best coils I’ve had on any car, so to see some people are willing to pay almost double for the Aragostas really peaks my interest.

I’ve also heard a lot of people switching out the springs for Swift’s too, curious on that.

Maybe ask him for recommendations since he had a custom KW setup that looked pretty legit.

Law of diminishing return. Each unit of marginal benefit becomes more and more expensive to achieve. The price difference won’t yield a one-to-one benefit, but it’s worth the admission to some.

Two obvious advantages I can think for aragosta to KW

- greater range of height adjustment
- avaiable pillow ball mounts

I have no track experience on these, but from what I read, the KW out of the box is insufficient for serious tracking, the aragosta will. If you aren't doing tha, it is not gonna matter

For a street car with light track duty, consider fortune auto or powertrix, which are closer to KW price

My rears were switched to swift bc I had the SPL read midlinks, which require a 2.5inch spring. SPL parts assisted in sourcing the spring

The springs included with the aragosta are too wide for the SPL bucket

I have Swift 12k Front and 10K rears on my car. I did the SPL Midlink also in the rear. The front is a longer spring. It is in my thread about the front spring length. I don't remember off the top of my head but it was a 10in spring I think. I used a 7in. spring on the rear.

OptionZero 04-03-2019 10:37 PM

i was referring to diameter, not height. the swifts are the correct diameter to fit the SPL bucket

i have a 6 inch rear spring, 10kg. kept the fronts out of the box, 14kg

From my experience, yes. Especially since it comes with new top mounts unlike the KW
