it's not a smudge but, a nick on the knob.

kennyz424 04-11-2017 09:47 PM

that nick :( I wouldve taken this damnit!

LtimmyJ 04-12-2017 11:35 AM

Is there a way to fix the nick?

I don't think so; My best guess would be to get it polished; which ill probably have done later this summer.

@ Mods/Admins: you can lock this up; doubt it'll sell due to the cosmetic imperfection.

Nothin' nicer than to get your knob polished.

Of course it will sell, but not at $270. Price it accordingly and it will sell. Keep in mind that it would cost money to polish it, so that should be reflected in the price.

Polished it would look like this.

If I were trying to sell that one with the nick I'd get it polished first too, that's a good idea. Then re-list it.

PS you can close the thread yourself in Advanced Options if you want.

When polishing one has to be careful not to rub off the letters, as can be seen in the second picture.

Only premiums can close threads.

kennyz424 04-13-2017 09:35 AM

the nicks look way to deep for a simple polish to remove. Only thing I can think of is putting it on a lathe and tapering it til the gash is removed but that might be pricey and will change the look of the shift knob. :(

That's what I'm going for. And I'd have it polished and keep it; I know of BAID polishing but if you could recommended who did the one pictured that would be great. The knick isn't deep or rough to the touch so hopefully polishing will remedy it.

Unfortunately, I can't close it myself so a mod/admin has to.
