Do you have any idea if the carbon backing would come off without too much effort (guess depends on how tough the glue is)? This would be good for me as I'm only looking for rear (shaving front) but I'd like without CF background.

Yes, it would come off easily. I removed mine as well.

If you look at the link at the bottom of the OP, you can see that the backing is held by strips of 3M tape. I just cut through the strips and it came out.

This would be the result.

Don't worry about the clutter.

I love how the car looks with the kit. Sadly it's a;most time to hibernate.

If you have a chance after work tomorrow I'd love to check it out before it's parked. Might help with some offseason decisions of my own. Mine going on jackstands too for a bit of rebuilding over the winter right away - I've been milking every day of this weather while it holds out though!

I moved down to Woodlands a few weeks ago so not out in the NW anymore and a bit handier.
