Yes, it would come off easily. I removed mine as well. If you look at the link at the bottom of the OP, you can see that the backing is

Yes, it would come off easily. I removed mine as well.
If you look at the link at the bottom of the OP, you can see that the backing is held by strips of 3M tape. I just cut through the strips and it came out. This would be the result.
