Darton Sleeved Block, New
SOLD
The sleeves in this block are still raw, never bored/honed, etc. They are ready to be opened up to any piston size and then the block can receive its proper cleaning and assembly. I am selling due to a change in direction with my personal car. The power goals have been substantially reduced to accommodate road course use.. and of course the stock block will be fine for that. These sleeves were installed by the same local machine shop here that does all the VR38 sleeves here in Chicago. It is not my usual machine shop, but I used them for the sleeves since they have endless experience doing them. The bore and hone and cleaning is already paid for, so if you happen to already have the pistons you want to use in the block, we can get that squared away. They even have VR/VQ deck plates. So thats is up to the buyer. $2000 or best offer.

The outside diameter of the sleeves at the deck is about 108mm (measured in the smallest area, where the sides touch one another), so you would subtract your desired wall thickness (twice) to come up with your max bore. However, I have no way to measure the outside diameter of the sleeves down inside the block, where it is possibly less.
As for the stroke, the sleeves do not protrude into the crankcase, so it would be the same as a stock block. |

bump with price drop. I have fully committed to the new direction with the car and purchased smaller turbos... so now I really have no use for this block.
Take it as is, or we can bore/hone it for your pistons first. Same price either way. |

I have it because for a while I was headed the direction of using my Z as a drag car, but I have changed directions and for now will be able to keep using my stock block. |

I did not! Its still here. My engine building lab is almost done being built and then I figured I would just use it! But if someone wants it, I could always tear down the running stock engine in my Z and build from that. Im flexible!

Looks like its probably been skimmed about .001 from stock. You can see where some of the light surface corrosion towards the exposed corners wasn't even taken off when it was decked.
